Original article came from Yibada, which seems to be Asian based.

http://en.yibada.com/articles/36992/20150606/nba-trade-rumors-ricky-rubio-available-for-knicks-no-4-pick.htm

Seems like an article in which the writer took some separate rumors and info he had heard and tried to put 2 and 2 together.

I was going to analyze it more, but I'm tired.

The only thing you need to read to know the writers are fools is the part about Rubio being a perfect guard for the triangle, and that Minny could pick Russell up in the 4th round.

There is also a SunTimes article beneath the Rubio article which talks about trading Anthony to Atlanta, Oklahoma, and Chicago.

The SunTimes writer is TREVOR CONLEY, who might even be posting here, for all I know.

Almost seems like his articles are the type of things we would post.

None of this is happening. New York paper, but TREVOR CONLEY sounds like the guy is a TWolves fan.

Would not worry about any of this, to be honest.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

The Knicks have the space to absorb his four-year, $55 million contract and he might be the what the Knicks are looking for to fit in to the triangle offense. While he is known for his assists one aspect he needs to work on is his outside shooting.

AND they said its so the Twolves can sign Russell- so really they are saying we would trade rookie contract, great fit for triangle Russell for max contract, awful fit for triangle Rubio- ha ha!

I would think if it would be 4th pick, THJ and Calderon for Rubio, Dieng, Shabazz and 2015 - 31 and 36.

I don't see Rubio as perfect for the triangle. Guards in the Phils three sided world are good shooters.

Rubio has potential, question is can he shoot?

He'd be a rock star in the Garden.

I don't understand how Chad Ford has been able to keep his position as "draft guru" for ESPN. He has seemingly zero understanding of basketball. He always gets the draft wrong. He highly touts complete busts. The idea that Rubio is a good fit for the Triangle is ludicrous.

before getting hurt this year Rubio's career was on a nice path. At 25 I still see someone with upside. I know the shooting sucks, but the defense is pretty good and he's a fantastic playmaker.

If we have a chance to move up to 1 you take it. The best deal we could come up with would be THjr, Galloway, 2018 pick (top 3 protected) and pick #4 for Rubio and pick #1

You want to give all that up just to swap our pick for towns?

I don't think the trade Chad Ford was reporting involved a pick swap. It was just to take Rubio's contract for a lottery pick, which seems insane to me.

what would you trade for a true franchise player? Imagine saying no... I dont want to give "all that up" for Tim Duncan. Ill just take Keith Van Horn and go from there.

If Towns is a franchise 2 way bigman than yes, its not even a thought. What would you give up to build around Hakeem? Garnett? Duncan? The answer is anything you can.

Unless you dont think Towns (or OK4 for that matter) are that good.

Really? I thought we were raping them! The distance between Towns and these other guys is so huge IMO. He's a possible franchise player for a decade or more. I think we'd have to give up far more.

Thats way too much..Rubio's contract is horrendous...Especially for a guy who is constantly hurt..No way I give up an additional number for that...Minny wants to rid themselves of that contract, they shouldn't be rewarded for it...

If you're talking about getting Karl Anthony Towns you absolutely make that trade.

Towns gained superhero status after the season finished...During the college basketball season, most GM said there were no franchise players in this draft..A couple of videos later has now made him a must have cornerstone..

Towns doesn't have a go to move...He didn't have a move in college...He isn't a great rebounder..He plays good defense...I won't give up two first round picks plus take on a horrendously dead contract for that and Towns...

they're not looking to trade #1... I read they are looking for another high pick to pair with #1. So I have no interest, unless we're getting LaVine and Shabazz back too

If I thought that Towns would be a Hakeem/Garnett/Duncan then I would give up my dog and mother in law + all that.

I like towns and think that he is the clear number 1 but I am far from sold on him being a future HOFer

so here is what phil is thinking ....

I'd do that deal if the 2018 pick had lottery protection to top 5. Towns is well worth it.
