Just for reference, in Tyson's 1st year here this team ended the year #5 in Defensive Efficiency. It shows just how much a great defensive big can mean to a team. If we added WCS and on top of that brought in a good defensive SG it would transform this team defensively. That would make a huge difference to this teams ability to win games.

Nix, we have the effing #4 pick with an opportunity to draft possibly the next John Wall or Steph Curry. You don't "waste" such a gift on drafting a defensive 5. We are not trying to shore up everything this summer. Let's focus on the best player available, and fashion a team around talent, not a system.

I agree with you in principle, which is why I said that if Russell fell to #4 we should take him. However, barring one of KAT, OK4 or Russell falling to #4, I don't believe there is any clear "John Wall or Steph Curry" available. Someone might surprise everyone, but I don't believe anyone can say definitively that they know Mudiay, Winslow or Porzingis is gonna be that superstar.

IMO WCS is a very rare talent defensively. People don't respect that but I don't care what other people value in terms of offense or defense. I think this team would make a major jump with the addition of a big like WCS. With all the teams that are playing 4 out 1 in basketball a big like WCS becomes major advantage in defending that style of ball.
