Does Melo realize that he needs to elevate his game and get teammates more involved with passing to keep them on the edge at all time. It was no wonder JR played well when Kidd was running the show he kept JR and Shump ready and expect a pass can come their way.

I get where your coming from, but at what point do Shump and JR take responsibility themselves. Also they played well with Melo in the 54 win season, so does that mean Melo gets praise for that?

Melo doesnt get the credit because it hasnt been proven it's because of him. It's clear that role players excel with LeBron, it happens on every squad he has had. Lebron and Melo approach the games differently, LeBron doesnt want to be primarily a scorer, he's happy to start the games getting teammates involved early and often. taking over isnt in leBron's DNA, he's realized in recent years he's had to do it.

Kinda ironic though since LeBron for several has scored more than Melo has on average despite wanting to be a passer.

It's not ironic because LeBron always has the ball making the decisions, taking 18/20 shots a game..

I want to give Melo some praise for the 54 win season. But those others thrived mostly because of Kidd and his leadership. For Melo to be successful we need to take the ball out of his hand and into a PG that leads the team. Creating for others isn't Melo's strong point because he really isn't a willing passer.

I get that JR and Shump story here they have a responsibility too. They are what they are role players. Melo must learn to elevate role players games no matter who they are but can we chalk it up that Melo is a scoring role player who requires leadership.
