lol... thanks. The best part is Nix is the most cordial guy also. I mean you could threaten to erradicate his entire bloodline with profanity galore and the dude would be like "look, I hear your frustrated, but your just not seeing how good Shved can be in the triangle"

sigh... this team has us all in need of some serious therapy.

he is a good guy but he ain't all cordial.

If you don't see it his way he gets pretty condescending.

I am sure that he means well though ...

I don't care about the condescending part though I have a hard time dealing with the lala land stuff ... quite illogical

yea.. logic.. loosely applied. I give him a pass because it *does* say "Pure Knicks Love" on the site, or it used to. I guess if cant have fluff about your team here where can you get it?

Fish....I'm with you man. I don't know about the fart thing....lol....But I have orange and blue towels from all the years of bleeding. I have more negativity about the knicks inside me that can take up this entire site.

I also don't understand why everybody gangs up on Nix, like its his way or the high way......Maybe it's a personal thing between him and Splat, so I try not to get in between, unless somebody throws me in. Maybe I need to really read Nix post and find something to disagree on, to see if I feel the same back lash.

I do see the la la land stuff he says.....But thats the same as the all negative stuff others say. I'm still going to show both with respect, unless they cross me.

But thats where Nix is a better man than me....He takes the blows and just moves on.....I need to learn that.

I could not stand TKF and/or F5 because they/he too was way to one sided and illogical. They/he could not even fathom that there is another side.

Splat is far from illogical. He is quite level headed. He just has a lot of animosity towards this team and its management, and at this point, that is anybody's right based on the last 15 years of bull sh1t.

Hi, I'm Splat and I'm a recovering Knicks fan.

If I could engage right now I would (never been shy about that), but I don't have time to play on the UK board right now so I'll say this and let it ride until I'm back some other time.

I'd sum up my general outlook as negative. Don't deny it. And the general reason is aside from not trusting Dolan, he hired a GM and a Coach who are both total rookies.

I don't believe Phil's past experience transferred to this job well thus far and I simply do not believe you can pull off a successful transformation when both the GM and the Coach are newbies learning on the job. One maybe, but not both.

And if it is one newbie, then it should be a coach, but not the GM.

Most every first time GM was prepared for the job well in advance. Phil was not. And he's too old and unhealthy to feel there will be any continuity or ability to sustain a culture.

My outlook is everything has to go right to make a contender. But I've said miracles do happen. If a miracle happens I will be happy for Knicks fans, not looking to undermine their good fortune. Believe that or not, it is true.

I did not attack Nix. I challenged them and got frustrated and said why. I wish they would stop putting down opposing viewpoints. I don't believe Knicks fans are stupid for hoping for the best. They are fans. That's what fans do. But you can do it without calling everyone else stupid all the time.

That was my frustration. Extreme opinions should be tolerated, mine or Nix, and can be held and shared without condescension. I've done it to, but I catch myself when I do and I modulate my expression accordingly. Maybe some will do the same for themselves, maybe not. Out of my hands.

Catch y'all later, too busy to play.

I've got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell!

Because I see both sides also. And when two lions cross each other, there's always sparks. But Im like you....this basketball thing is nothing compared to real life issues. I do get frustrated when people cant see this world from my point of view, which is usually neutral and honest, while respecting others opinion. Thats all I ask. And whenever thats not true, I'm only human.....Don't hate me for my mistakes.....

But hey, thats why we are all different. Nothing wrong with that. Now let me get back to my beer and see what these games are looking like. While I get my azz kicked in facebook (zinga) poker. I go up a few million, and then lose it all. Get frustrated for a second....Then I'm extremely happy and satisfied cause it's not my money. It's therapy for me.

Splat,

I put my pride to the side, and actually read your entire post for the first time. You are not some little kid, like I said before. I respect your negativity and share the same concerns you do as far as management, owners, coaches, etc.... We just express our pain differently. I was initially taking up for Nix, because you came across as a bully. That was my assumption, since you just joined and I didn't know you. Now I understand where you come from and will get out of the way, if you feel disrespected by others. For the record, I'm all about basketball and respecting each others opinion. Nothing more....nothing less.

But unfortunately, I have business to attend to as well....She is cold and ready to swallow!

I'm not a negative person. I don't Dwell on the negative. That's different from simply not acknowledging the negative. I've had plenty of posts over the years where I disagree with some Knicks move, coach or player actions etc. I simply tend to post in response to negative posts more aggressively than most so it makes it seem like I never have a negative point of view towards anything. It's a perception that is hard to shake if you are like me and slant towards the more optimistic view of things. If there was less over the top negative posting I wouldn't seem so over the top positive. This thread is a perfect example of what i'm talking about. IMO the article was over the top negative and without balance. So I come on and respond to that strongly and it creates a narrative that i'm ONLY positive and never against anything having to do with the Knicks.

Also conversations tend to lack any sense of perspective. If I write that I like a kid like Shved then someone goes off about him not being anything more than a journeyman scrub and why am I hyping him? IMO there was no need to take it to that extreme given the initial comment was pretty tame. Now after the typical argument ensues things get more and more intense and all of a sudden it seems like i'm putting Shved in an All Star class. This is what happens over and over on this forum. Not just with me but anyone who posts something remotely positive about one of our players will find himself in an argument like that. As if they said the player was the 2nd coming of Jordan. That lack of reason or perspective is one of the biggest issues on this forum IMO.

So Kurylo is a Realist who writes an article with only the slimmest chance of any success for the Knicks this summer and next season and his reasons for this are because Phil might decide to resign Bargs and there's little chance we draft an impact player or pick the right Free Agents for the team who can play with Melo. So basically we're screwed and there's no sense even getting your hopes up cuz there's only the very slimmest chance for success. Knowing me and my take on things you can only imagine that i'd be one of the loudest ones to refute such a stance. Does that make me a bad man? Does it mean that i'm delusional? Mind you that i'm not saying and have never said that everything was going to work out this summer and that we'd have a title team. So in fact i'm not at the other end of the spectrum in this argument. All i've said is that we have a good chance to improve this roster and that things have already started to turn for the better with this franchise when you look at every aspect of the franchise from D League to scouts, coaches and front office. I see a more focused franchise with a clearer vision from top to bottom.

Big thumbs up. I always respect manning up. None of this stuff should take over our daily thoughts. And I don't have time for grudges, so take care.

dude you are too sensitive ... whats with all the dramatic goodbyes and red carpet reentries?

I post when I am in the mood and don't announce any sudden departures.

Anyways ... I am heading out for a few months and I will perhaps return when and if I want to

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Nah, you're reading too much into it. I'm wrapping up my involvement with this thread so I can get some work done. When I say I don't have time for this right now it means exactly that and nothing more. The next six weeks look packed and I need to kill this diversion for the time being. This is too easy to lose hours to and I can't afford that right now. Didn't say goodbye. I said I'm busy.

Some people need to make a declarative to achieve a goal. For me it is easier to cut this out for a while by declaring it and then focusing on something else. It is just how my brain is wired.

I've got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell!

There is something to that.. but thats life when in an environment like this (losing). There are negative people, and pissed off people, that dont want to stop being pissed or negative based on your happy crappy views on some prospect who had a garbage career and a two good weeks as a Knick (this is a dramatization)

For now this is a grin and bare season. We will get good some players from this. Either via cap space or the draft or even from time Galloway/(Shved/hopefully others) were able to take advantage of during a losing season. But the negativity exists because the team is negative. We stink. We are terrible and its humbling.

perfectly stated.

don't sell us on pipe dreams of Ricky Ledee and our D-League future stars. When we prove it on the floor then we will stop being negative.

There were many negative posters during CrashOf54 and I could see why that irked people. We were winning many games and some by wide margins and these negative nancy's were in the game thread being quite annoying.

Now I actually see where they were coming from but it was still quite annoying and out of place.
