Who says I am trying to defend him, I just did not believe at the time(before someone provided my the espn link) that he would be so ignorant to do that;in fact, I hate him with a passion for all this melo bs that has happened.
WOw, shame on him though, that is something you would expect JR Smit to do.

I still have a hard time believing Dolan actually wrote that email.

Its petty beyond belief. And Adam Silver should get involved and force some kind of apology. Its absurd.

Dolan may be sober, but he's stupid. There is clear, irrefutable empirical evidence that Dolan has driven this franchise into the ground.

Same... This sounds like it was meant to sound like Dolan but its hard to imagine he would be so stupid to actually send this out. How would Dolan even get this mail? Its not like being a season ticket holder means you get his direct email. Typically sr. corporate officers had anything screened anyway.

That being said Dolan has a pattern of behavior consistent with this... he's not smart. At all.

I don't doubt it is actually Dolan. And I don't have a problem with his response. People used to email Steve Jobs complaining about Apple and he'd respond randomly to some of them. We definitely aren't in a Great Age of Correspondance... don't think either letter is going to get the Ken Burns scan-and-pan voiceover treatment anytime in the future.

He's barely said anything publicly since "The Hiring Of The Triangular Saviour", but he's going to bother to send this out?

C'mon. This would possibly ruin his ability to self-book his next set of tour gigs.

By not even bothering to deny it gives it even less credibility. Ignore it completely.

1. MSG confirmed it was Dumblan's email from himself.
2. When were we ever a championship caliber under Jim? Most of the years were overspending and even ranked #1 spending for years among all NBA teams and didn't make playoffs
3. His hiring? Well, we know the results, don't we?
4. This fan has been a fan for over some of you young ones combined, give the man some respect and remorse for being a Knicks fan that long.
5. Anyone here that thinks this fan did the wrong thing is, and I'm sorry to say and I'm sure I'll get flamed for, is a loyal moron. I'm a loyal Knicks fan but I want Jim to sell the team. He doesn't deserve to be an owner left alone he got it straight from his hard working dad.

I'm sure the dig at his pops was a trigger. He didn't like being sonned by some crotchety old fan. Maybe he knows this guy? If this is the biggest worry in a 70-year-old's life, God bless him.

Human being does something human. Not a big surprise. Dolan gets death threats for god's sake and is sincerely despised (Exhibit A: JamesLin's Dumblan rants) for some lame ass First World Problems people have with their his ball club.

You don't have to be drunk or an idiot to do this. He just should have put this in his diary or slept on it before deleting it.

Hey, if he needed to send a dumb email so he doesn't reach for a drink, more power to him. I don't know if the 21 years of sobriety is true, but if it is, this is nowhere near as pathetic as I'm sure he's been.

I dunno. This situation makes me question the media of the coverage of the Knicks as much as, if not more than the ownership. I would agree that MSG's media policy has alienated the beat writers to a large degree, but at some point I want to channel my inner Lawrence Fishburne and say "Its a new day mother f---er". Seriously. What needs to happen that I don't have to hear every triviality in the Knick's past?

(As an aside, how is JR Smith now a victim? Let's see if the beat writers run with Barkley's statement as gospel or rebut him as any sane NYer would). This will be my litmus test.

And for those Knicks fans that have been around to see two championships -- shame on you for bitching now. Yeah, times are tough. Boo hoo get a tissue. But I never got to see a NY Knicks championship and I am still here saying screw you to the haters. I love this team.
