I would only do this if they threw in Mirotic along with all that you mentioned.

LOL. And every 1st rounder up to 2020, and MJ's statue outside.

WHO SAYS NO?!?

yeah ... if you don't agree with this then you are just stupid. Melo has lots of fans that would need this kind of return package.

How about Melo to Portland for LA, Lilard, ROLO, Mathews, and a first rounder?

Heck ... how about Melo for Portland?

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Pick lets say 3 or 4 pick 33 Chase Budinger Anthony Bennett for Melo. We take back 11mm in sht salary and they get a star who can come in and play with Rubio KeVin Martin Wiggins Mo Williams Pervoic--it makes them formidable right away. Melo plays with a good team he get another 10mm and we get a second high lottery pick and a high 2.

Melo would never / ever go to Minnesota. No trade clause.

Minny is out of the question. Melo's wife would never let him rest for doing such a thing. His agent and Brand makers would be up in arms too.

I think Anthony would only go to a big market contender where he is the "final piece," like Chicago, or a team in a city where he could cultivate his "brand."

Minny has some good things going for it, but I cannot see Anthony consenting to this kind of trade. Also expect that his wife might have a few choice words about the move. The T-Wolves would have to have an amazing second half to interest Anthony- they are just too far away at this point... and he might not want to go there not matter how much progress they made by the end of the season.

I think people greatly overestimated how good the Bulls would have been if they added Melo- the media were all acting as if they would be championship calibre. In reality, Noah is under performing this season due to a serious knee surgery (I suspect micro fracture), and Rose is a shadow of his former self (as expected).

But they're still on pace to win 50 to 55 games

i think thats largely because of the contributions of Jimmy Butler, the overseas rookie and Gasol, if they'd traded for Melo, none of those three would be there (oh, how I dreamt of us trading Melo for Jimmy Butler, the rookie and some picks at the time).

Market value is what the market is willing to pay. He generates more money for the Knicks and the league than he makes. I don't like his contract (I don't hate Melo, but I know what happens when we sign players on the downside of their careers), but I take solace form the facts that with the cap rising significantly, his salary becomes more reasonable (wait and see what contract horrors are unleashed this off season!), and b) when the new CBA is negotiated, hopefully they'll include another amnesty clause.

its loose cartilage from the meniscus. So what happens is when your active (running) it causes friction. That causes swelling. That causes soreness and a drop in performance (athleticism). The surgery would be to clean that out.

As these things go its on the side of good. I would be much more worried if it was shoulders

H20 is a legit concern. That can just happen to anyone. The other guys had structural injuries so that doesnt apply here, but yea on H2O, that can just happen.

Yea knicks fan H20 into the ground to the point where all the cartilage was gone and it was bone on bone and required micro fracture surgery. So painful he could no longer play. I remember his short lived comeback attempts. It was sad to watch. Good thing is he still collected his $100mil for 7yrs.

Can you imagine having an albatross contract for 7yrs today? My goodness

Yes- I think after his first season with us, he had surgery on his elbow, and maybe knee- he'd been putting it off for a couple of seasons up until then

Oh, you said added Melo. I thought you meant if Melo had signed there as an FA.

He has an injury. Do you consider every player who has an injury "breaking down." Is Durant breaking down? Westbrook? Lebron?

Lets say Melo gets surgey and hes good to go in 4 months
