They will have better draft picks now that Love is gone, they don't make the playoffs anyway...

If Melo is as great as you say, then we'll have better draft picks once he's gone

My goal has never been to get high draft picks or grow young players...Thats a crap shoot...I prefer to build around a talent you already have...

We've been crapshooting going your preferred route

My way would not include MDA, Donnie, Amare, Tyson, Fisher, Triangle, etc.

Doesn't matter it's been a crap shoot

Just like none of us would have traded away all our picks

Those that wanted a true rebuild

Here's what we absolutely do know your way hasn't worked

And we've tried it twice already working on our 3rd

A better question is why is Love still having problems without Lebron and why does Kyrie insist on becoming Marbury pt. 2. Watching Kyrie play it seems like he is in love with his handle and he takes extra dribbles instead of passing to open players.

Cleveland is an interesting case study and I look forward to watching how it unfolds. I think they get it together but if they don't will Love be okay being a 3rd guy like Bosh. Sometimes he might be the 4th with JR. JR took 23 shots compaired to Loves 11 or 13 last night. Plus, unlike Bosh, Love is not a defensive presence.

Certainly interesting...One thing you are learning, Love is not a franchise type player...Kyre is hogging the ball too much...Love needs more touches...I don't think this is a easy fix like Miami...Kyre needs the ball to be effective but the team is better with LeBron orchestrating with Love involved...

Big difference between Kyrie and Love to DWade and Bosh. DWade and Bosh play defense and don't mind playing the #2 and #3 role on offense where Love and Kyrie don't play defense and still want to be that #1 offensive guy especially Kyrie.

Haven't there been whispers about Love's attitude this season? As in he's been a PITA behind the scenes? I thought I remember reading that somewhere but now can't find it again.

But no matter what the Knicks would have to do this deal in a nanosecond if offered. This is a steal. Even if you don't want to keep Irving Or Love both guys are way more tradeable than Melo.

I haven't heard anything this year but there was talk last year.

See I remember reading something about this season and Love being sullen. Maybe I'm misremembering.

Someone Mentioned Cleveland as a case study..... that is so true.

They have time to get better but they don't look too good now. Maybe jr and shump make them better and they go to the finals. As of right now they are scaring nobody.

love could walk next year. Lebron and kyrie don't mesh well.

What if Lebron walks? I'm sure he wants to avoid that so him forcing a trade for Melo makes sense. I dunno if they trade kyrie for Melo but love and maybe another player from a 3 way deal might work. That would set us up immensely for next year.

Or nah

It's early and they haven't had great health. I think their best move is patience.

GS is gelling after a year or two with the core coming together. What Cavs are trying to do is not easy.
In a way looking back the 4 to finals run Miami did was really quite impressive from an historical perspective.
The lack of a three peat hurts the legacy but it maybe a while before we see a "4 Trip" in a while.

Naturally Spurs run over 15 years in this era is even more so!!!!

Cav's will be judged not on 40 games, but I'd say it will take a few seasons and then we look back and measure.

http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/11/report-kevin-love-wont-sign-long-term-deal-this-summer-waiting-for-salary-cap-to-rise/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs

Love is unlikely to sign long term this summer because of the salary cap. He is expected to opt out of his current contract at the end of the season for cap purposes, but he might only sign a one-year deal to line up for what is expected to be a significant cap spike in the summer of 2016.

Love has said all the right things about re-signing with the Cavs this summer and the Cavs continue to insist he’s here long term. Executives around the league, however, continue to believe Love could leave Cleveland at the end of the season. We’ll see. There is still a long way to go.

Interesting.
