Anyway:
I read in a few places that teams are now working under the assumption that next years cap will be 92 mil, instead of the original projection of 89 mil.
If 92 mil is the new number, then stretching Calderon (gaining 5.1 mil in cap space) puts us about 25 mil under. That’s max contract territory. And yes, I’m taking into account cap holds. You don’t wanna be going to the top free agents with hat in hand, asking them to take a 5 mil discount. You wanna be able to offer them the max.
