Get Amare in there and he will get this team 22-10 on 55% shooting. That's valuable high efficiency play that cannot be wasted. You can hate on Amare but you can not deny that teams will have to game plan for him.

the game plan is:

If Amare is guarding you, point left and go right.

That's not funny. Who the hell game plans for Dally? Put a card board cut out in front of him.

While Amare has some of the qualities to be an excellent leader, he is lacking the abilities to defend and pass the ball which are vital at making guys better. He is an eloquent speaker, but guys will never follow his lead giving that he can hardly defend his position and pass the ball when he is on the court. Once the ball reaches Amare, he only looks to do one thing which is to score.

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

The team's biggest problem is a lack of leadership. They need one guy that can: put guys in good position defensively as well as on offense. A guy that cAn help the team not to play out of character, etc.

Not true Amare has passed the ball well. Matter of fact he has been hitting teammates for easy baskets. I'm shock people are getting on the guy who brought the Knicks back to somewhat respectability. Yeah he has had injuries I got on him for some his stupid shyt things he did like punching a fire extinguisher. And his numerous knee ailments but he always fought back when others would have taken the money and ran away. He has my respect for that I know that more Amare plays the better he gets both on offense and defense.

I'm telling you guys he has one year with the Knicks don't have to bring him back. Let him play big minutes and he will give this team everything he has. Ask yourself where are the Knicks going why not give Amare the run that he deserves.

Agree VMart (for the most part) - considering the limited options we have, I would play Amare and take advantage of what he does bring. We clearly have to play better defense, but our roster is 90% half-way players. The defensive players we have, don't bring enough offense to justify significant minutes. Of course the argument is true for our offenseive players as well. I love Acy's toughness and Shump's effort - but without more scoring and an inside presence - we have no spacing to make Melo effective. Instead we keep trying to make Don Nelson like adjustments - putting Melo at the 4. Long-term, he will break down at that positon. If Amare is only with us for this season, let him and Bargs ride their strengths or trade them for 2 way players (if possible). The worse scenario would be to play Melo at the 4 to win a few more games, miss the lottery and see Melo break down in year 2 or 3 of his contract.

As for leadership - I see teammates equally respecting Amare for his determination and supportive/positive body language - and Melo who every player has to adapt to in some way. Since Melo ain't changing and Amare won't become a defensive star this season - let's not waste what he does offer

or just yell "Switch!" and it freezes him like a deer in the headlights

I am not saying Amare can't play; he is simply not what the Knicks need at this juncture. We need a consistent 20/10 dude that can put fear in opponents mind. A player that can pass the ball and stay within the flow of the offense.DEFENSE is not in Amare's DNA

We shot 11 free throws last night to 36.

No penetration to the rim. If we continue to put up jump shots at the end of the 24 second clock, the likelihood of wins is small. We desperately need a penetrating point guard to go to the hole and take a foul. Larkin refuses to be a true offensive threat, deferring to others and taking a Pablo-like stance on being part of the offense.

Hahaha! People made videos of Bargs doing stuff like him last year and cherry picked. Amare does this every time down the floor. He also can't find his man to box out which compounds the problem. Hot mess on the defensive end.
