Six games and this is a done deal?
Did you expect a quick fix?

No just for the $124mil 5yr man to lead and be the main contributor to leading the team towards a new culture of professionalism

Not abort the ship after a handful of games

Come on now

He is signed up for over 400 games. Are you really going to judge him on 2 games?

How many coaches, how many teammates, how many gms? Lets see if this new regime is the real deal and if Phil has autonomy.

Easier to accept losing if it looks like guys are growing or evolving within the system. Anthony has had some moments, but when under pressure he reverts to the style of game he has always played. He is the player who is supposed to champion the ideas and concepts Fisher/Jackson are trying to do instill, not be a guy who fights to have his own way at any cost.

30 games from now, if we have a winning record, we might look at this stretch of games as some kind of early bump in the road, but it might also be the beginning of a terrible year, where we (and this includes P. Jackson) all come to realize the magnitude of the mistake of signing Anthony to a contract that hamstrings the team for the next 5 years.

Anthony looks terribly slow out there at times, and for the most part he does not make the effort, without the ball, to get free so he can be in position of have a good shot. No way that you can count on him to play 5 years at a level of quality commensurate with the money he is being payed.

He is supposed to be setting the example of how to play in this system, not Travis Wear, who, whatever his shortcomings as a player, actually has an idea of how to play the way Jackson and Fisher want their guys to play.

Best thing for this team now would be for Calderon and Bargnani to come back on court, and Anthony to get injured for 10 games, so everyone else on the team can learn how to play system ball without having to defer to Anthony. If Amare and JR revert to last year's style of play, you sit them down or drastically decrease their minutes.

Maybe if Anthony sits and watches he might learn what he needs to do on the court... or maybe he will respond the way he did during the MDA/Linsanity period.

EVERYONE on these boards felt we'd get off to a really rough start, so i don't get why some people are acting like they're shocked and surprised that we are off to a rough start. People used to blast IT and Dolan for their 'you can't rebuild in NY' line, but here we have it- Knicks fans were willing to give this triangle project precisely 6 games. Jesus.

Building a culture does not include "Panic".
2-1 and Phil says he surprised. Get it now?

Figures that everyone would ignore this post......We are in full rebuild mode. Melo is the only player on this roster that starts for the majority of NBA teams....Some of these guys are 8th or 9th men off the bench (for good teams) while the rest who are getting playing time for us would be collecting DNP's

if it's a full rebuild then that speaks volumes about melo.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

If he was simply missing shots it's one thing but he is not playing within the triangle. See Amare's comments Eventhough he didn't mention Melos name. His energy level and enthusiasm for the triangle is on par with his enthusiasm to play in SSOL

It sure does...Like Kobe, its hard to win games when your surrounded my average to below average players...

I don't mind Melo going ISO but NOT to start the game. I remember Jordon back in the day, and he took over games, but generally later in the game. I just remember so often at the start of games thinking "We are not letting him go off." but it was rather Jordon's decision. I think Melo needs to work on the team game to start and save the ISO's for later in the game.

Regarding the team, yeah, we suck pretty bad but our starting PG is still out and and that other injured terrible of a trade player is out also. I do think we are playing worse than we actually are.
Don't get me wrong, I want a lotto pick, no two ways about it. But realistically, I can't see us playing quite this bad once we have Bargs and Jose back. That will still take time...

Come on lotto pick...

Melo is in a bad shooting slump right now. He's always been up and down with his shooting as we've all witnessed over the years since he's been a Knick. He can run hot and cold which is the norm for players that shoot around 46% for their careers. Melo is a scorer, and has a scorer's mentality similar to Dominique, Ice Man, and Kobe to extent. Meaning that when's he's off, he feels his next shot is going in, so his solution is to shoot his way out of a slump. Can it be frustrating at times? Yes? But, we ALL Knew This we he put on the Blue and Orange. Phil Knew this when he offered him that contract. He's a scorer. (Period)

We can definitely win with a scorer like Melo, as Phil said, the Players around Melo need to change... When Melo is off, we do not have any fall back options. When Pre-Injury D Rose was off, The Bulls had their gritty defense to fall back on....We do not! When Prime Kobe was off, The Lake Show had Shaq to fall back on, we do not have a second starter on this team right now, let alone a second all star.....

The Triangle ain't gonna save the lack of talent up and down this roster. Melo like 3/4's pf the team is still out of sync trying to run the Triangle. Too much thinking out there and not enough reacting...The movements seem robotic at times (which again shows that they are thinking too much)...which leads to lack of hard cuts because they are still not sure....It'll take a lot more time, but even if and when its running like a well-oiled-machine, in the end the lack of talent ain't gonna cut it.....

The dude is just standing in the middle of the court like a sleeping robot much of the time. Only when he is fed the ball does he seem to care right now. Melo's off the ball movement is often non-existent in recent games.

I was unable to catch last nights game due to a game that I was coaching last night. I will definitely catch tonight's game and will watch Melo's off the ball movements, etc. Several years ago, my team ran a simpler version of the triangle so I know what it looks like when its run well....

Team is a fcking disaster
