Six games and this is a done deal?
Did you expect a quick fix?
Easier to accept losing if it looks like guys are growing or evolving within the system. Anthony has had some moments, but when under pressure he reverts to the style of game he has always played. He is the player who is supposed to champion the ideas and concepts Fisher/Jackson are trying to do instill, not be a guy who fights to have his own way at any cost.
30 games from now, if we have a winning record, we might look at this stretch of games as some kind of early bump in the road, but it might also be the beginning of a terrible year, where we (and this includes P. Jackson) all come to realize the magnitude of the mistake of signing Anthony to a contract that hamstrings the team for the next 5 years.
Anthony looks terribly slow out there at times, and for the most part he does not make the effort, without the ball, to get free so he can be in position of have a good shot. No way that you can count on him to play 5 years at a level of quality commensurate with the money he is being payed.
He is supposed to be setting the example of how to play in this system, not Travis Wear, who, whatever his shortcomings as a player, actually has an idea of how to play the way Jackson and Fisher want their guys to play.
Best thing for this team now would be for Calderon and Bargnani to come back on court, and Anthony to get injured for 10 games, so everyone else on the team can learn how to play system ball without having to defer to Anthony. If Amare and JR revert to last year's style of play, you sit them down or drastically decrease their minutes.
Maybe if Anthony sits and watches he might learn what he needs to do on the court... or maybe he will respond the way he did during the MDA/Linsanity period.
