There is no logic in this move if it was only to save a few mil in lux tax. This has to be preparation for something else. Maybe a good faith move so Phil can pawn Amare on Philly at the deadline? Or there are plans made for the trade exceptions acquired.

There isn't much you can do with a $1.9 million trade exception. I hate this trade, especially since we are giving up Moultrie who I think has real potential. But I'm estatic that Wear made the team.

Unfortunately, you can't combine exceptions or involve them in a trade with another player. So the only way we can put the exception to good use is if we assume a contract for its value.

I guess the Sixers are just trying to sck until they get what amounts to a franchise type player in the draft. The one thing I dont get--they have MCW--yes he has some flaws but he could be a first team all defensive type PG and if he contain shooting outside shots could get up to the 43-44% range with smart play. Yet they want to dump him? Right now the Sixers are a waste land of the NBA. If you have a contract you want to get rid of--the Sixers will take it for 2'2s--theyve had like 9 2nd round picks in the lat two years--net from that---not much. In some aspects you say well they have Embiid and Noel--and that could be awesome yet a tweak here or there with either player--and bang the Sixers just junked 4 years for zero.
