So jhardaway has the potential of a mirror of melo's NBA career?
I think in the right situation Tim Hardaway JR has the potential to be a 21-25pt avg SG in this league--kind of like a young Ray Allen. I think he can be that good. Hes got an incredible 3 pt shot and he has the athletic ability to play both in the mid range and to the basket game. He's about the same size as Ray---I thin k hes a youn g Ray Allen in the making. Melo is a different player as he can get 30-31 and plays closer to the basket--much better rebounder different body type.
Ray Allen could not only carry an offense, he could run it as well. If I recall correctly, the bulk of the minutes he played for the Sonics was as their orchestrator. Hardaway can and likely never will be able to do those things on the level Ray Allen did. Because of that, I think a more appropriate comparison would be Kevin Martin during his Kings' days. They both could shoot the hell out of the ball, which is a skill I'll look forward to with Hardaway.
