Ok maybe not

But how do you spend so much money in the off season and you Offensive Line is worse than last year? How is that even possible? What are you the Yankees?

Might be time to blow up the Giants too

Really really dark times in New York sports

Heck the Knicks & Mets are in best shape!

Fire Reece
Fire Coughlin
Both
None
Giants will win the Supebowl
Giants will miss the playoffs again
Eli will throw another 25 picks

Will firing Reece & Coughlin make Eli younger and the O line suddenly healthy and sound and worth a sheet?
I hear Odell Beckham is just waiting for the next regime to start so his hammy will heal instantly.

I know, 2011 was just so long ago.

Giants missed the playoffs 4 out of the last 5 season
This would be 5 of 6 for those keeping score
Not even the Knicks & yankees are that inept

8 years ago? You mad trippin, G. Their last SB win was 3 seasons ago 2011. Get a grip home slice.

both of those games were incredibly gripping and exciting, too.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

So you think they can turn it around and get back in the playoffs? Eli is older and eating up all the cap, Coughlin is older and about to retire, the offensive line that won those superbowls is gone, Plaxico Burress is gone & Bradshaw is gone. It is imperative that Reece as the GM regroups and stop making terrible personnel decisions or they will never sniff another Super Bowl.

There are so many holes on this team and they are disgustingly undisciplined. Too many commercials and too many distractions in NYC, not enough focus. Oh and Beason is injured again so back to having the worst linebacker core in the NFL. Gonna be a lot of fun this year!

Those Super Bowls are sacred but you can't live in the past. Guys get old and the world moves on. Look at the New York Yankees

The reason the Patriots are good every year is because Tom Brady restructures his contract to allow them to keep guys like Gronk and sign Revis

Other than the Offensive line, which gaping holes are you talking about?

Plax wasn't around for 2011, and we didn't have a solid TE like Donnell. Our defensive backfield is MUCH better now. We also have a modern offensive system with a lot more flexibility.

I like our chances this year. Unlike baseball, any team that makes the playoffs has a chance to win in the NFL..."Any given Sunday"...that means something, and it's what makes the NFL unique among pro sports. You just need to win a one game at a time...no series.

Eli will be amazing this year...watch a learn son, watch and learn.

I like our chances too especially if Eli plays the way he did and Donnell continues to impress but the lack of discipline is what has kept them from making the playoffs 4 out of the last 5 seasons. Coupled with bad signings especially at the O-Line, complete disregard in terms of drafting LB's and injuries.

I agree that we have dropped the ball big time on the O-line and LB corps. Reese has his work cut out for him next of-season, if not sooner. Losing Snee was HUGE, but Beason has been a gift (hopefully he comes back soon). I actually think our run stopping will be better this year than in either of our SB years. If JPP, Kiwi and Da'Monster Moore keep progressing, I think our D will be top 5 in the NFL this year (barring injury to either corner or safety).

But I have total faith in Eli and Coughlin. They are proven winners. I expect the stupid penalties and dropped passes to be done with starting now. The team has a culture of professionalism. They just need team leaders to give voice to the expecations, which I think is happening this week.

Let's see how they do against the Texans. It's a "must win" in my book.

there's really no excuse for lack of focus which is what penalties and dropped passes are all about in my book.

Also they've been playing tight knowing Coughlin's job has been on the line the past 3yrs

Also they are way too many distractions out side of football. From commercials to just being around Manhattan

I miss old Coughlin but hey its only natural that the message gets stale after so many years

so you're saying his lost the team... that's a big statement.

its a natural progression after a decade of hearing the same voice imo

new coach comes in and wipes the slate clean and each and every player needs to prove himself to the new coach. Everything else takes a back seat with playing time on the line.

Need to re-focus

It's either lack of discipline

Or the players are right knowing that Coughlin has been on the hotseat the past 3yrs

I think any discussion of a rebuild is premature at this point. I am committed for the duration of Eli's current deal. If we don't bag a third SB, then we can explore other options. But I have faith in Coughlin and Maning to get us another chip. Might be wishful thinking, but that's the curse of a true fan.

Yes he signed for $100mil which for a nfl player is a lot. He might have restructured last year I'm not sure. He doesn't have to but I'd have to imagine it makes Reece's job more difficult. Reece could be more resourceful with his draft picks and signings though

Yea I guess you let him play it out. Only 2yrs left

Here are the details:

8/13/2009: Signed a seven-year, $106.9 million contract. The deal contains $35 million guaranteed, including a $13 million signing bonus, a second-year option bonus of $12.5 million, and all but $1 million of Manning's 2009-2011 base salaries. Another $500,000 is available in 2010-2015 via annual workout bonuses. 2014: $15.15 million, 2015: $17 million, 2016: Free Agent

More to come on this if we go 0-7. These are the times where I really hate working in the middle of Eagles land.

Yes, thank you, I'm looking for another job.

The key is getting the talent so Eli can have a resurgence like Rivers. This falls squarely on Reece. San Diego's GM has done a much better job drafting and signing talent
