Lol, don't think Shaq was very white, so probably not.

And Bill Cartright says hi.

Ha, was that before or after luck longley, chuck nevitt and will perdue told him shut up and lower his head so they could watch Scottie and Michael play.

Yeah, I forgot Phil had a soft spot for slow footed, undersized centers as well. Jeremy Tyler should fit right in.

it is pretty funny when you consider they had Luc Longley, Perdue and Wennington or Wellington on the same team. Its like they just kept throwing giant dopey marshmellows out there lol

yea... good depth move. Dont want to ask this to play 82 games and 30 minutes, but you can see some month where Dalembert or Cole have to miss games and this guy comes in and gives you great energy for stretches, fills the stat sheet out and the Knicks win. Agree guns... good stuff.

I think another reason why we got Smith is the one year contract. Many of these PF types have been getting 2-3 year deals. His injury problems probably smashed that.

Who would win in a footrace? The Bulls stable of centers you mentioned or the Bucks mid 80s stable of centers? Namely Sikma, Mokeski, Breuer, Webster, Engler?

Hmmm... seem to recall that those marshmallows did pretty well for Phil- didn't get toasted by the opposition too much. Still remember that Wennington play where he got a pass and, without dribbling, took about 10 steps and scored a big hoop against us.

No doubt that Phil wants to have a lot of length on the team so he can throw in whoever fits best at a particular moment.

We suddenly have a more 6'11"-7' guys than we have ever had. Sam, Aldrich, Smith, Tyler (now on the margin, perhaps), and Bargs (yeah- I know he plays like he is 6'5"). In his SL interview, Phil also said he feels Amare is at his best from the 5, and that Bargs also has value at the position.

Going to see some midrange jumpers from the 5 position this year... a big reason why he gladly game Chandler away, even though he actually took and hit some Js last year.

Still think that Phil is looking to deal players away.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Couldn't have hurt to have a 2nd year team option so he can be trade bait if things don't work out

I'm gonna go with Longley, Purdue and Wennington. I at least saw them dunk every once in a while. I don't think I've seen anyone dunk on those bucks teams, with the exception of maybe Alvin Robertson.

surprised we could not get him at about 2year, team option for 2.2m a year or something like that, using 1.1 for Thanasis for a 3 year deal

With all these vet min type contracts, at the time

PF/C
=========

Ed Davis
Ed Davis seems to be my favorite which plays a similar role but is younger

Glen Davis
Big Baby, Glen Davis

Drew Gooden

Blair
Dejuan Blair signed a 3 year, total 6m deal, with 3rd year being a TEAM OPTION, essentially a 2 year 4m contract while he brings exactly what we want with more post up ability/skills
???
Edoh UFA

Serephin *Wizard's not looking to give him the entire 3.8 qualifying offer and have a bunch of BIGs now*
Aron Baynes *RFA*

Players that were signed as complete steals

SF/PF
Rashard Lewis, he seems like he is back to form during the final games of the Heat, and played a BIG game in the play offs, it is never enough to have enough shooters, eventually signing with Dallas for the vet min

G/F
Brandon Rush G/F to a 2 year vet min deal with player option on 2nd, he had a big knee injury and this year could be the year that he comes back to his old form, I loved him prior to him getting injured and he was one of the most efficient 6th man's in my opinion that year

PF/C
Bernard James

Phil Jackson seems to want that blue collar worker to serve as a veteran mentor and a tough dirty defender that takes no crap that plays PF/C
Regardless with UFA's and talents available like

PG
======
Sessions *which we can still do a sign and trade with though, especially with their addition of Bayless*
Bayless *at the time, which I would like to believe he would rather join the Knick's than a rebuilding Buck's, at least if for the same salary*

Nelson/Mo Williams

Peyton Siva

PG/SG
Darrius Morris/Tourre Murry
E'Twaun Moore
Garrett Temple
Jimmer
Ish Smith
Shelvin Mack

G/F
========

Evan Turner at SG/SF, playing a PG/G/F type role
shows his skills are to play WITH THE BALL and an above average defender/versatile/play maker

Francisco Garcia
John Salmons
Cassipi
Marshon Brooks/Jordan Crawford
Doron Lamb

The D League and boreline NBA players, though once high prospects and most are still young

James Anderson
Devin Ebanks
Hollis Thompson
Damon Jones
Xavier Henry
Al-Farouq Aminu
Wesley Johnson

SF/PF
=========

Shawn Marion, Deng got 10m and though Marion is older, he is very versatility and his VETERAN experience/ability to still defend and versatility offers much to our team

Dante Cunningham *though playing in another position, he seems to be the type of player that resembles a Jason Smith signing though it would fill a position that we need*

Earl Clark, I know he didn't play well under Woodson but also didn't get much of a chance in a poor system and lack of working philosophies as well, so an unguaranteed contract with his break out 2 years ago would make sense

Kmart
possibly resigning Kmart with his early bird rights with his early bird rights, with an unguaranteed contract that could be a trade asset and used to match up salaries in the future, anywhere from 1-3 years
We could use his contract as a filler in the future if things do not work out or simply CUT HIM, I know we are in the luxury tax and it cost a big of money but money isn't an issue with Dolan and Phil Jackson should utilize this to his full advantage

Luke Babbit/Mike Scott, again, could play a role similar to Novak and is one of the better shooters in the league

Andres Nocioni/Turkeglu

PF/C
=========

JERMAINE ONEIL, I know is old but played great last season, even outplayed Bogut/David Lee at times

Ivan Johnson *similar role to Jason Smith but undersized while more athletic*
Willie Reed
Jan Vesely
BJ Mullen's if AB is traded

i wouldnt mind wes johnson...an athletic defender
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better
