He's not a BUM!!! You need to do some research on this kids production despite not getting minutes. If he was getting starter minutes he'd likely be a 10/12/2 Center. The whole idea is to hope you have a serviceable center like Phil has had in the past.

I'v heard this **** about bums all the time,

just because he's a bum now doesn't mean he has to stay one.

Cole hasn't done much but centers often take time and realize he was selected 11th in his draft I think.
When he got minutes last year he produced. Considering the value we got for Chandler and that I liked Cole better, I'm happy. (Though Tyson might have just mailed last year in - Thanks Woody.)

Cole appears pretty smart and he is actually a decent rim protector, not great but he gets his blocks and can use his weight.

You're spot on here. I suspect we got Cole back for the minimum -- if that's the case, we have Woody to thank for that. If Woody would've used Cole all year long like he should have, this dude would've produced even better overall numbers and therefore would've been more expensive, maybe even right out of our price range. So yeah, thanks Woody! LOL.

And yeah, totally agree -- we got some nice value in return for Chandler and I too like Cole better anyway, so happy camper here as well.

We're lucky Tyson still has a bit of a good reputation around the league. He wasn't devalued too much by last year. Yes we caught a break with Cole that he was hidden by Woody's incompetence. He comes cheap and I think he'll produce at a good level for us. Cole is young and strong and seems very comfortable in the Triangle which is GREAT!!!

I wonder if OKC would have also given us a nice package for Tyson? I really feel they are a nice center away from a championship and didn't get them not stepping up.

Finestrg - I hope Fisher uses Cole well. Clearly he has talent and again, he seems like he has some brains. With our triangle offense, brains are needed.

To be fair Cole has bounced around so you can blame a lot of coaches if you want. I think Cole has promise though and at the least he will be a good back up defensive bigs. I hope he can be similar to Robin Lopez but Mahimi is probably more likely of a comparison.

All of that is fine. Cole is cheap and productive with minutes. That's all I want from the guy.

could be a poor man's Omer Asik which isn't saying a whole lot but still a decent player.

I've always liked Aldrich. He's a strong rebounder and doesn't hurt you defensively or offensively.

SL game 2 offense was not as smooth with Tyler in the game, today.

Tyler has a nice midrange J for a big man, but he thinks shoot first when the ball comes to him. If he does not have a shot, he then passes off. In SL game 1, I got the feeling that Aldrich's first thought was to pass the ball.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Shows promise against other bench players, but I haven't seen him do enough against starters, at least enough to get my attention. Another player who might benefit from the triangle as others have said. No great rejoicing....

Yeah, we have our third string center. I hope he exceeds expectations.
