Jackson has been playing like a master. Forget the Zen stuff- more like Machiavelli or Sun Tzu's Art of War.
Was philosophical in his stance that whatever Anthony decided, the Knicks would come out fine as a franchise. Personally, I believe that in the back of his mind he does not think that Anthony can be the top dog on a championship team (If Anthony does actually go to Miami to be with James, we then know that Anthony feels the same way himself.). For the first time we seem to have a leader in the front office who knows how to play the game.
Called out Anthony on his comment about taking less to help the team, putting the pressure on Anthony to back up his words and show what he thinks about the team and the New York fans.
Said there was a Max contract on the table- Allows fans to see that Anthony has a choice, and Phil is not pressuring him. Even said there were about 5 contract possibilities. Saves Phil and the Knicks from any negative public reaction if Anthony leaves. Makes Anthony the goat. Commenting about the texting which Anthony hasn't answered does the same thing.
Should be interesting to see how everything plays out. As others have said, Bosh is the first domino... once he decides we'll know what is happening.
Anthony may go from Savior to Satan in the eyes of Knicks fans, and Lebron better build a wall and moat around his Akron house if he stays in Miami to be with Anthony after the tease he gave the Cavs fans.
