Melo, Kobe it won't work! There is no way a Melo & Kobe team wins in today's NBA
They are kidding themselves its like NY part2 But with STARs in LA, They don't even got a coach yet !

Byron Scott won't get a Melo/Kobe Team to work for years & by that time the Knicks may win a NBA title
if the FA thing goes well for them in 2015.

Only Melo and Kobe get $$$Paid. There got to be something to do with La-la and $$money.
Kobe can be in Melo ear all he want, its a 'Fail' waiting to happen. As if P.Gasol is a 23 yr old again !
They luck if the see Gasol in games after he gets knocked on his A_ss few times and can't play cause of

They can't- LA makes no sense, in fact they are probably in worse shape than we are. This years roster would be: Broken down Nash, Melo, Broken down Kobe, Rookie. They'd just have the MLE and minimum contracts to fill out the roster.

Hopefully thats true:

Us signing Melo for the max- disaster
Melo signing max with Lakers, meaning we get nothing in return: disaster (though not quite as bad as the above)
S & T with Bulls= best case scenario (though depending on what we get in return).

Its actually worse than that for the lakers. All exceptions need to be renounced to obtain cap space, so no MLE for them.

Thanks. This could get really interesting. I know there have been some suggestions that Melo needed reassurances about Jax's indifference towards him and that he was not happy with the talk about not taking the max but I find myself wondering about ToodarkMark's post where he shared that his friend over heard parts of the dinner conversation between Melo and Jax. Mark is a no drama poster and has been on this board for 10+years. If his friend's account of the Melo/Jackson meeting was accurate Melo could be looking to move on even if Jax has changed his position and wants Melo now. Not sure but it certainly seemed like things were wrapped up and signing was just a formality. I think Chicago is back in the picture.
On a side note, I looked back and Mark deleted his post and asked to have the thread locked. He also stated at the time that he had no way of knowing if the info was valid but that he trusted the friend that told him the information.
