ESPN actually seemed to praise our pick for once. I haven't quite figured out how to react to that.

They also praised our picks when we took Michael Sweetney, Maciej Lampe and Slavko Vranes. I'm not sure it means anything.

I was ****ing thrilled with that Lampe pick. He's seemed to have a good career over seas. Shame he never panned out here.

Loved the Lampe pick. The guy was supposed to go top 12.

I loved Lampe too- thought he could have become a player in the NBA. Nothing amazing, but solid contributor type player.

No idea why he hasn't come back.

Maybe the money's better- maybe he knows he doesn't have the talent to compete in the NBA.

value pick and a value contract. If we have some talent around him he can probably come in play good rotation minutes right away.

i have to say, while watching the ncaa all this past year and knowing the knicks didn't have a draft pick, I didn't think we would have an opportunity to draft a player like early.. he's a bit of a tweener, but i think he'll find a nice home in the nba as a 3, probably one of the most nba ready players in the draft, he should be able to come in and contribute right away. people might get on me for this but ive always seen alot of caron butler in him... that midrange game, strong, doesn't make alot of stupid mental mistakes. very happy with phil's selection here.

If you didn't watch the NCAA Tourney then you missed this kid showing you why he's a steal for this team in the 2nd round. This kid is legit. He's gotta bulk up a bit and improve his handle, but other than that he can do a lot of everything on the court. This is just a really good pick considering we didn't even have a pick a couple of days ago!!! Phil has already changed the prospects for this team in just a short time. lots more young talent and we still haven't seen who he brings in as a FA yet!!! Really like this pick.

Agreed 100%. Early is a flat out STUD -- top 20-25 talent in this draft, and we are very lucky he slipped to us in the 2nd. He is another high-energy guy who is not intimidated by anyone and is the type who would typically get drafted by someone like San Antonio or OKC and thrive, leaving everyone else in the league wondering why/how he got so good and why they didn't draft him over Player X from Big School U. I believe Knicks fans are going to love watching this kid play.

I really like this pick. I dont really follow NCAA but Ive been reading about him all morning and am convinced this kid can be a solid contributor in the NBA. Nice pick!

Plus, he's a NYer. Awesome.

This was a nice pick. Early was an under rated player in this draft he's an inside outside player who is tough and athletic. We have to wait and see about the rest of the draft hopefully we pulled another GeraldWilkins type pick with Thanis yhe last kid there were better players there I'm surprised we didn't nab jefferson or bachinski there.Wehave a lot of bigs on their last year of their contracts

Nice pick, what impresses me most is that the kid is supposed to be a defender.. I like that..

He's tough, but they say he still needs to work on defensive technique on the perimeter. But you can work on that as long as the athleticism are there.

I personally like DeAndre Daniel's better than Cleanthony Early but time will tell
I was hoping KC McDaniels or PJ Hairston would fall to us
Also that we would have been buy one of Philly's picks, in addition to trading Iman for a 1st rounder, and having a "agreed" term of deals for the draft rights of a player that we will get to spend another 3m after July 1st

Cleanthony Early reminds me of of young Gereld Wallace with less athleticism but a better shot when he entered the league
If he reaches that ceiling of Wallace, it would not be bad at all, actually very good though
While Daniels has a much better shooting stroke as of now

Thing is about Cleanthony Early is what separates him between someone like Renaldo Balkman and some other tweeners

I think we should look to sign James Johnson, a SF/PF that could speed the development up of both of our picks
We clearly needed a legit SF and we got that, along with a SF/PF in Cleanthony Early

Time will tell, now Phil Jackson must select his coaching staff/development staff/ and trainers to help our team learn/grow/develop as a TEAM

Yeah and the DX clips show he was getting blown by on the perimeter, and he was getting knock downd in the post, I'm not exactly sure what defensive strengths he has.

He's a 4 year player so I would expect some maturity and polish. He's a scorer though... a guy who can get his shot off and make buckets in a variety of ways. I see a better version of John Wallace (higher IQ)

wow listened to an interview. the kid is smart AND a new yorker! i look forward to see what he can do.
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%
