PHX can absorb Tyson contract and with the Phx medical staff Tyson could be super Tyson all year round.

Those guys are not easy to come by. A young player I like is Khris Middleton because I think he is on the verge of being a good player plus he is behind Giannis.

Yea hopefully Phil and the staff spot those kind of cheaper players with upside.

I'm all for that

Good point. Another BS rumor I'm sure

Dlee was our best player. We can have him as a role player and a pretty good one. can pass, rebound and run the floor. A double double machine.
Barnes as a project could work. Dude is very young.

Not worth the cap load

Lee was my favorite Knick. Would've taken him back th last few years but now is time to purge and start a new

I didn't start the rumor....i'm just talking about it.

purge meaning wait to sign someone next year...but who because Love is about to be off the market. Lamarcus Aldridge isn't a game changer in my humble opinion. Rondo isn't leaving Boston. Nobody else worth mentioning....

i'm with a real purge where we suck for 5 years while we home grow a young team through the draft but if so then we need to let Melo walk if that's the case.

Gotta make a decision what you want because we can't have both.

In not interested in those guys either(Love, Aldridge, Rondo)

Personally I want to draft the next Lebron, Duncan, MJ, Kobe, Shaq, KG etc. Rookie contracts.
Then add pieces via smart trades and free agent acquisitions.

But that's just me. I'm sick

Im with you guns. Lets get a top pick in 2015 and then use our cap space to build a team smartly.

About this trade, it eats into our 2015 cap space but then Lee comes off the books in 2016? Right? I think Phil is going for Durant, tbh. I just have a feeling that is who he will pursue. I dont think he will go for anyone in the 2015 class or anyone pricy for that matter until he knows Durant isn't coming.

If that is the case, I wouldnt hate this deal. We dump Chandler who likely wants out anyway and get back a young player in Barnes who has had some bumps in the road but is only 22! Lets take a shot developing this kid, what the heck do we have to lose? He showed some flashes in the past. Nice athlete, etc. Next season is likely lost anyway. Lee is what he is and exits the cap in 2016 anyway, we will still have a bunch of space in 2015 if we want to make some less than huge moves. Actually we still probably have enough for a max FA even with Lee on there. Hmm i could be wrong there but whatever, Id just do this deal if GS is serious.

I can accept that if that's the case

Would be funny to see Lee get let go by the Knicks again.

This time instead of banking on Lebron we will be banking on Durant coming. Haha can't make it up.

Instead of going through that again we should be working on drafting our Kevin Durant and if players are there to be had then we go shopping. Anyway that's what same teams would do

Oh, I agree. I just have a feeling Jackson will purge the roster and begin making over the team with his system in mind but preserving the space to go after Durant in 2016. The difference between 2010 and now is, I HOPE, that Phil will not throw out all smart team building strategies if Durant doesn't sign to go with a flawed plan b or c throwing out the careful work of remaking the team that had already been done.

I know I'm making a lot of assumptions here, but I'm assuming that Phil Jackson is going to be a good mg who makes smart moves. If he isn't of doesn't or proves to be horrible I'll have no problem admitting I had my head far up my ass.

I disagree bogut is a good player but he is also very unreliable/injury prone they are prob thinking if Tyson and bogut split time at center they can keep both healthy through out the year.. Also you could put bogut at the pf Tyson at the c position to shut teams out of the paint to close games.

Also I know the defense wouldn't be there but... A amare, dlee,HB,thjr,pg pick up hoping we get a 20 to 23 pick and select Napier .... Would be fun to watch offensively or if melo stays... That's a nice front 3

We sure would be lucky to be able to see Amar'e, Bargs and David Lee playing defense every game.

I don't see it. Kobe and Paul play defense. I think we should focus on getting picks. David Lee is already on the decline in terms of production.

what was he saying about the rumor?

Just that Golden State still appeared to want Chandler - and he was saying Phil should do this deal.

it's huge value....

maybe golden state thinks they can move on with Green at power fwd...Tyson chandler fits what they do especially with the slap out rebounds with the deadeye shooters they have in the back court.

David Lee fits what we are trying to do now....yeah we had him before and he didn't fit because we sucked as a franchise at the time. The Isiah years were some embarrassing days and then he had D'antoni and the whole Lebron decision purge that he fell victim to....it's a different time. David Lee fits the team concept we want to build now.

So if this went down I would totally understand why and would be all for it

What are we trying to do now that David Let fits? Or team concept will require two way players. David Lee cares more about positioning himself for rebounds than playing defense on the ball.

Dlee is not the star. He is a piece. In decline perhaps. Lower his minutes and define his role an he is good. Barnes at 22 could be a big piece in the machine. unless injured, both are tradable assets.
Bogut moves to Power forward and GS is less exposed to his oft injured status. Its for one year.

Its no starphuch so IM sure nobody would be "excited'. Were not supposed to be.

Smaller moves and pieces add up either on the court or as trade assets.

The article referenced I think doe not appreciate what Tyson brings or consider bogut to PF. Its evident Dlee and Bogut on offense crowd each other.

Most likely just another writer with nothing better to print!

Are you referencing his defense as a knick?

This is an interesting trade under the right circumstances. Not sure why people are so down on Lee's contract. He's a little overpaid and a poor defender but provides great production and will continue to do so for the last 2 years of his contract and probably beyond that. Barnes gives us a young prospect with reasonable potential either as a trade piece or to develop as part of the future. We should still have enough cap space to add a max free agent next summer even with Melo and lee, or without Melo can still start the rebuilding process with lee on the books. I see lee as a player that will continue to put up good numbers into his mid 30s and would be a nice fit in the triangle. I wouldn't rush a deal like this but if it's there it should be considered.
