I'd move him and $3 million for their 21st and 29th picks. At 21 I'd select Adrien Payne and Spencer Dinwiddie at 29.

I like this thought process but would prefer Kyle Anderson at #21 and Dinwiddie at #29.

I haven't seen any mock drafts that have Kyle Anderson going any later than 20th. If we could maneuver into a higher position to select him, I'd be all for it.

I'm done with him. He hardly even shows flashes of potential. His defense has majorly regressed. I wouldn't even consider him a decent rotation player at this point. He's an end of the bench guy until he isn't a liability on both ends. I thought he could become a really good player when we drafted him. Poor judgment on my part...

It looks like OKC intends to keep its 21st pick in order to select this Kristaps Porzingis guy.

He looks intriguing, but he appears to be at least three years away from being a rotation guy.

I'd rather buy a second round pick than trade Shump for pick 29. Pick 29 comes with a slotted salary guarantee, while we have more control over the terms of the second round pick.

You can only use $3 mil per year in cash incentives. It's not like you can buy an unlimited amount of stuff like in past years.

thats fine, but do you trade him for picks that usual dont become nba players like this same article is suggesting?

Shumpert's not an NBA level player either

it's so crazy that Shump can go from mini-Jordan to 'not an NBA level player' on this forum within a year's time.

Have the Knicks used any of that $3M allotment yet? Maybe the Knicks are better off seeing if they can unload Shump for multiple second round picks?

Yeah, I think Hairston is a talent, but it's not like we need more two-guards. I'd prefer it if the team used it on a PG prospect. As for trading Shump, I'd be OK with it for the 21st pick. But if it's for pick 29, I think the team is better off trying to purchase a second round pick first.

The Shump we got after Phil came to the Knicks is the Shump i want on my team. Before Phil got here he gave up on us and let all the trade talk and whatever else get in his head. If we were to trade with Okl City then i think the perfect package to trade them that would get us a good return would be Shump and Tyson.

I'm with you on that one. If the pick we would get would be that low in the 1st then i'd rather keep Shump and buy a high 2nd.

I don't know. I remember he seemed to have a bit more energy but I thought that might have been because the trade rumors stopped. He still only shot 33 % from the field which is horrific for a 2 guard or a point running the triangle

I trust Phil will do what he things best.

Gotta get guys that the man thinks is underperforming in one system but can flourish in the triangle.

Maybe Shump can, but if you can lower salary and get two assets for one thats the kind of small move that adds up.

Lets get some international guys we can hype as they incubate overseas!!

Who are we getting at 29 who will be better than Shumpert? How do we know Phil is desperately trying to get rid of Shumpert? What if Phil wants him here? As opposed to watching him flourish in OKC. You really think sefolosa is coming here and giving you more than Shumpert? Remember shandon Anderson in Utah? GTFO

he has not a had a chance to develop. he was injured and then he was dicked around. he is the kind of guy who clearly needs a healthy work environment in order to thrive. it's a real shame that he was out most of last season but then again without kidd and prigioni the wheels would have fallen off the knicks rickety bus and badly. it's great for the delusional that shumpert was injured or they could not have enjoyed the 54 wins before getting exposed. not good for those who would have preferred to allow the kid to develop in the normal course of time in a functional organization.

with sheriff jackson in town maybe things will work out.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Exactly. Why people are eager to give him up for the 29th mother****in pick is beyond me

I guarantee you if Shump played for okc this entire time he would be looked at a lot differently

If sefolosa was here he would've got ran out of town like Landry fields

I'm convinced Knicks fans are the worst basketball fans in the country. Worst than Miami fans

He probably would have been on the bench like lamb, jones, and sefolosa.

Knicks have worked out some guys expected to be picked around 29. I wonder if that is because they plan on buying a second round pick or if it is because they are planning on getting the 29thpick from okc

Shumpert was always overrated by knick fans, he was inefficient in college and he is inefficient as a pro. Nothing has changed.
so here is what phil is thinking ....
