I think they can be great together if they are willing to play to each others strengths.

neither play to the strengths of the players they're playing with so how do you conclude they'd do so with one another?

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Harden had 6 assists a game and assisted in 27% of his team's FGs. What more are you looking for?
There are legit criticisms of his game but I don't think that's one of them.

in the playoffs he also took too many shot attempts per game way over his season average. is he a playoff type player?

At times yes. At times no. There isn't a simple yes/no answer to that question. I think he's capable of doing (and has done many times) much more than you could expect from a $13.7 mil player though.
It may be that he's not a #1 option or that we're overgeneralizing from a small sample of playoff games. At $13.7 mil, neither answer is problematic though.

In 2015, they have Harden, Howard, and room for at least 1 more max FA.

I don't think their is room for another Max player between the two offensively because they are so ball dominant that carrying another high usage guy would be too crowded. It would only work if Howard would be happy with a reduced offensive role.

only if they let Parsons and Beverly walk for nothing.

Thats the caveat most dont mention... sure the Rocket *can* have the space you mention. It also means you lose guys that are a huge part of any success they are currently having.

Howard does pout when he feels like he isnt getting enough touches.

Parsons is about to get badly overpaid. They can and should trade him. Beverly has a qualifying offer. So they can make him an RFA. He'll probably get about $5 mil per. If it's more than that, he can walk.

I can see him getting Rondo because McHale and Ainge have history together.

Interesting that Morey didn't make the top six in exec of the year voting after bringing in Howard.

He is very disliked as a person- I think thats one of the reasons he struggles to make trades- other GMs can't stand him. For example after he had just beaten the Mavs to sign Dwight, he straight away phoned Cuban and asked if Dirk was available- Cuban felt he was gloating and being an *******.

Wow. Could see him being disliked but didn't know about the Dwight story. Hope he has to eat Lin and Asik's contracts next year.

There were also some articles saying he had annoyed other GMs to the point they wanted him to eat those Asik and Lin contracts and not help him get rid of them. To be fair, he did address the Mavs thing a few months ago claiming he did it innocently and didn't realise how it might come across to Cuban- so he's either a deliberate ******* and a liar, or has no social skills or awareness!
