I wonder if Woodson was pushing for it because he has another gig lined up?

Not a bad coach, just another of the 18 since Holzman left. Nets had 20 in the same time (Via Araton's article) and 22 for Yankees including the 5 stints Billy Martin had with George!

I hope Woodson gets a good gig, maybe a college gig. His "Brotherhood of man" father figure thing might bode well for recruiting. Maybe the Indiana job opens up (University of......)

Personally the 54 season win was a great coachiung job. Had many players in and out of the lineup and did very well.

I don't think MDA will be calling him anytime soon!

I don't see Don't see him landing a high profile gig like Indiana but maybe Larry Brown will add him to his SMU staff and eventually Woodson takes over for him. I know if I'm coming out of high school the last place I'd want to play is in a Mike Woodson offense

"Since Red Holzman’s first tour of bench duty produced the franchise’s only two championships (in 1970 and 1973), 18 coaches have come and gone (including Holzman in a second early 1980s go-round) if you count poor Herb Williams, a two-time interim.

That number falls short of the 22 men who have managed the Yankees since 1978, but that includes the George Steinbrenner binge-firing years when he hired and fired Billy Martin five times, along with Bob Lemon, Lou Piniella and Gene Michael twice. The Nets have employed 20 coaches in that span, but they were among the most unstable franchises in sports while in New Jersey, and not exactly desirable company.

Let go Monday morning, Woodson departs after two-plus seasons with the third highest regular-season winning percentage (.580) in franchise history, behind Pat Riley (.680) and Jeff Van Gundy (.590). i will say this.. i was lucky to enough to share a few beers with a 10+ year nba vet about a month ago.. this guy played for woodson in atlanta. he does not like woodson and said scott skiles was the only other coach who was as big of an *******. i was a bit surpised since it always seemed like woodson was a players coach, but he said not at all.

obviously spoeltra's system(Riley's system) works

Woodson's system might have worked in 1978. When was the last time Woodson got out of the 2nd round?

Last I checked 0-0 is not a losing record. 315-365 definitely is.
