i don't see a problem with this. what i do see a problem with if they the play by play guys start saying "amare adidas stoudemire" or "carmelo nike anthony" with a thunderous dunk!

I mean thats where i draw the line.... your logos on the uniforms have to be small enough where they cannot be easily identified from the 20th row or something and if the companies are willing to pay for that, that's more money in the business in general, in other words... more elite players attracted.

Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

Dolan just put a billion dollars of his own money into the Garden, there is plenty of money in the NBA...

Why do you even care? Personally, I think that professional sports is a leech on society (tax payer money sponsoring private profit) and that it should be socialized to instead benefit the community they operate in. Still, I don't get why ads on jerseys would be the breaking point for you.

Why do I care???...Is this a real question??..Do u have any clue of what sports and the add on's is costing everything around you???..Do you know what ESPN and MSG for that matter means to your capable bill??

This is going to be a prime example of the pot calling the kettle black but why are you so goddamn pissy? Answer my question, so that maybe I could understand your point of view. I don't see how ad's on jerseys will lead to the destruction of America.

In layman's terms, I understand it's a business and my attachment to the game is of pure love for the sport...If you are going to remind me constantly that it's a business and you are milking it for as much money as you can then I won't support your effort doing so..

Again, I'm not the type that presumes that corporatist culture is something sacred. I already said that I thought professional sports should be socialized, which should've been a clue. Even so, I don't think that ads on jerseys are such a sinister thing especially when you juxtapose it to the NFL and NHL holding nonprofit status, public money going toward building stadiums, etc.

No it's shouldn't be socialized..Just don't use public money for stadiums, etc..

Either or I suppose. From a fan's perspective, I like the socialized aspect more because my money could go toward funding a hospital rather than James Dolan. I'd also like to think that the experience would cheaper.

The problem with u you are advocating is the it's the choice of the city, state, or County to do so..For example, New Jersey gave the Giants huge tax incentive and an offer to help build the stadium if they moved there..The Giants accepted...NJ didn't have to do that..They reap taxes in return..

What tax revenues did NJ reap in return? The NFL is classified as a nonprofit. The guise they use to swindle tax payer money is that it benefits local businesses and creates jobs. Excuse me for being condescending but I don't think the service industry, where people can make as little as $2.50/hr, is considered a job, let alone something that we should invest tens of millions of dollars on.

I missed this earlier..The "NFL" as an association is classified as a tax-exempt organization not the individual teams...The Giants pay taxes, it's a sweetheart deal dating back to 1970 when the Meadowlands was first built but they pay taxes..A few years back, East Rutherford( the town) sued them for back taxes owed...

But the revenue from the NFL is pooled and then redistributed isn't it? I'd imagine that might create a wrinkle in the tax operation.

I still miss watching Ranger games without seeing ads on the boards. MSG was one of the last to do it if I recall correctly.

The league would do more good for themselves if they did this with the NBDL instead. Use the revenue to improve venues, advertising, more competitive pay with intl. teams, making the NBDL a legit successor to the CBA.

The NBA is doing fine without corporate patches which will only get bigger to the point where they will compete with the name of the team for real estate on a uniform. The NBDL doesn't have the storied past the NBA does and its uniforms. Some uniforms are best forgotten though.

Don't worry. I suspect the uniforms will be tested in the NBDL first. Silver didn't say it was happening next year. There will probably be a one to two year test period. Not that it makes a difference. How may people pay attention to the D-League?

Holfresh, sometimes enough is enough. every year I have to renegotiate my cable bill and now IM attacking my Cell phones. Its easy to keep adding services. Gotta draw lines.

Back to the subject at hand, I remember when the NHL had nice white boards, now they are littered with adds. The backstop on Baseball games has billboards only seen on TV as they would distract the players. Blimps in the sky, stadiums and arenas designed for more space to sell.

Halftimes, statistics, pre games, post game, highlights, etc are all "Bought to you by....."

But ratings keep going up.

Even our UK now has adds.

But nobody puts a gun to our heads. Hockey in Europe looks like this now:http:

If they cut out TV commercials then i'm okay with the ads... if they puts ads on the jersey on top of the commercials I'll watch a helluva lot less too

They put logos in those ugly sleeve jerseys I'm done with the NBA. It's a joke now anyway

Way to many players leaving college early being the main reason

So much wasted talent and garbage basketball because guys never developed fundamentals

FUCK the NBA
