Papabear - no

Felton does not need to apologize for his wife turning in the gun.

He needed to apologize for:

- putting the franchise name in a negative light, and by association, putting his teammates in an unwanted spotlight
- being the lead story on Wednesday morning SportsCenter for something other than playing basketball
- forcing Tyson Chandler and Mike Woodson to answer for his actions, when they should be talking about practice

- yawning in the huddle
- getting toasted by opposing point guards
- threatening a woman with violence

- being busted for a sidechick
- shooting 40 per cent from the field
- wearing that ugly azz tshirt

I thought this was a Felton thread. How in the hell did Melo get in this. There are some sick ass hoXX that post on this forum who can't control themselves regarding Melo. They blame Melo for everything that goes on with the knicks. I even heard the hater fell down some stairs and he said Melo pushed him. He got sick off fried food and Melo got blamed for cooking it. He even blamed Melo for the resent Snow Storm. He said it was Melo's fault.

Mr. Earl until all the facts come out Felton is innocent so there is no need to apologize. Because of the story it automatically puts the team in the forefront. His wife turned in the gun. I mean they were living apart. I heard they have a pre-nept agreement and she won't get much. What you are doing is accusing him of something you don't know if it's true or false. Maybe a woman's scorn is playing a part in this and it's affecting his play. In the case of yawning in the huddle I've see guys argue , scratch their balls, and pick their nose. so he Yawned big deal. Now he is playing bad ball I can agree. But you or me can't tell the man how to dress just because you don't like what he is wearing. Having a side chick is not unusual in the NBA they all have them or 90% do. Some even have babies by other women while they are married.
All we can do is just wait. The reporters will not go away and maybe some of his side chicks my come forward. you saw what happened to Tiger Woods.

Attached to nearly every Raymond Felton reference are the words innocent until proven guilty. Considering his recent bust for gun possession, this is fair and appropriate.
What about his wife, Ariane Raymondo-Felton? Well, an assortment of Gasbags inside the Valley of the Stupid, and commentators from other media precincts, attach qualifying words to her, too.
Like, Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. It’s their nice way of describing whatever devious motives they want to ascribe to her. That’s the way it is in a world where your only accountability is next month’s ratings.
When it comes to Raymondo-Felton, married to the Knicks point guard for 19 months before things fell apart, the mouths are more judgmental, more comfortable, dealing in stereotypes. On that account, they are doing a bang-up job playing to the misogynists in their audience.
And why not? They know she can’t defend herself. Raymondo-Felton doesn’t have the Gulag’s PR operatives running interference for her.
RELATED: FELTON 'NOT A DISTRACTION,' WILL PLAY AGAINST HEAT
Some mouths have described Raymondo-Felton as nothing more than an occupational hazard, just part of the lifestyle rich and famous NBA players are forced to encounter while living the high life.
“Players have to be careful of gold diggers,” Chris Broussard, an ESPN NBA reporter, warned Wednesday on ESPN-98.7. “I’m not saying she (Raymondo-Felton) is (a gold digger).”
Then why even bring it up? Broussard, wittingly or dim-wittingly, lumped Raymondo-Felton into a category of women who supposedly prey on these poor, naive, helpless NBA players. Make no mistake, Broussard was not only portraying her as a gold digger but sounded as if he was casting her as the villain in this scenario.
By no means is Broussard the only mouth to go down this road. He had plenty of company. The vast majority of Gasbags (pick any of them) were skeptical of Raymondo-Felton’s “motives.” Some stated as fact that her sole purpose of having her lawyer deliver the Belgian-made semiautomatic handgun (home of 18 armor-piercing bullets) to the police was “to bring Felton down.”
This is how it had to be, right? It is all about “getting even,” not concern for her own safety or even Felton’s. Remember, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Assorted talkies even accused her of having the gun transported from Felton’s home in North Carolina to New York.
Raymond Felton finds many jumping to his defense after he is arrested on gun possession charges.

Raymond Felton finds many jumping to his defense after he is arrested on gun possession charges.

Of course in these high profile “celebrity cases” the attorneys are summoned to the microphones to bestow their wisdom on the unwashed masses. During a Thursday appearance on WNYM-AM 970, Arthur L. Aidala, a Fox News Channel “legal analyst,” injected the money angle, saying Raymondo-Felton could be costing herself some dough “because she put him (Felton) in a position to lose his job.”
This theory negates the genuine possibility that long before this gun episode went down, Felton may have already put himself “in a position to lose his (Knicks) job” with his putrid play on the hardwood. This didn’t dawn on Aidala. Then again, no one is ever going to confuse the attorney with Jeff Van Gundy.
There is some irony in all this Raymondo-Felton bashing and stereotyping. Some of those doing it have come off as pious, even caring, while talking about the road Michael Sam will travel to the NFL. Or the NFL’s possible N-word edict. On these topics words are measured — carefully. The same cannot be said for those portraying Raymondo-Felton as a money-grubbing witch.
We wonder why? Is she just an easy target? Are they trying to turn Felton, a bad point guard but their point guard, into a sympathetic figure? Or is this just a man thing only men can understand?
WFAN’s Steve Somers took a different approach. After a caller said he would be armed to the teeth if he was a rich NBA player, then accused “this woman (Raymondo-Felton)” of “driving around town with an unregistered gun,” Somers offered his own unique response.
RELATED: MASK DESTRUCTION! JAMES AND HEAT DESTROY KNICKS, 108-82
“You must feel bad for Raymond Felton,” Somers, on WFAN, said. “Why? Because he’s an idiot?”
Now that’s rather harsh commentary, yet typical of the lofty discourse on this matter. Raymond Felton’s personality is revealed to a limited extent during interviews, most of which are conducted in a controlled environment. Yet no one slamming Raymondo-Felton has any real legitimate insight. They don’t know her.
On Monday night during Mavs-Knicks, a few hours before Felton was arrested, MSG ran an in-game piece, “The NBA Life,” featuring Felton being interviewed by Tina Cervasio. Among other things, we learned how many homes Felton owns and what his favorite meal is.
Other than that, there was not anything memorable. Still it was worth checking out again. No can do. MSG pulled it off its website. Maybe Gulag suits just wanted to give Ariane Raymondo-Felton equal time.
Stop laughing.

Last night, In the open court with no defender within ten feet of him, Raymond Felton did something unusual and highly unproductive.

Rather than dribbling the ball in front of him, facing the rim, and changing direction, he turned his back and circled the other way. Described another way, to change direction, he turned and dribbled into a 360 move.

Crazy time-wasting stuff.

Tone deaf.

I know the exact play your talking about, that sht was mind boggling.. I still feel that a good part of felton drop off comes from the coach.

How can MDA turn the most avg pg into a respectable (at the very least) pg, posting career #s.

But i will take into consideration that when things are not right at home, it's very hard to focus at work consistently.

Defense

knicks1248 - blaming Mike Woodson for Felton's drop off is a bit of a stretch. As anyone who has gone through relationship turmoil can attest, chaos in his domestic life cannot be a positive influence on his production.

We need guards who can guard.

Amare Stoudemire is a turnstile and Tyson Chandler gets muscled inside more than commentators recognize. We have no interior presence.

None.

i am going to break my "ignore poster" stand and converse with you: the article answerman cited was not solely abut felton it was about the knicks with special focus on dolan and melo.

if you read the article you would see that, hence my citing the article and highlighting the salient points. you don't have to agree with what araton is saying, but i happen to find his insights quite useful as well as corroborative.

frankly melo and dolan seem like the real *******s here. no-- they ARE the real *******s here.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

The Knicks lost all faith, and, are not listening to the coaching staff on anything, it's obvious to all that:
- Tyson is not defending with full power, just because he doesn't agree with the defensive scheme
- STAT is kind of a cancer(can't blame him), demanding to be more valuable with more minutes, not getting it
- Shump unhappy with role
- Melo embarrassed with not going into the playoffs and playing with numb nuts
- Felton? he is just getting to much credit from the coaching staff, it's mind boggling how the Knicks didn't got a PG, some PG that will turn around this team, but like i said, to much credit

like i said in my earlier post(2 weeks before the trade deadline), i'm afraid the Knicks will not do a **** at the summer, and just let all the contracts to end, coming to 2015 and offering max to Kevin Love or something
