How can anyone get the job done if he's gonna always step in and make dumb decisions? Even tho I can't stand Woody, this isn't just about the coach. It goes so much deeper than that. Every time they hire a coach that could do a good job if supported, they undermine him. This is the 2nd time we had a coach and changed the GM right from under his feet. That's not how a winning franchise does things. I'm not saying you can't fire a GM but there seems to be no valid reason for the firings. THEN Dolan makes that GM do things they likely wouldn't do if left alone. No plan can ever bee seen to it's conclusion with this owner. As a Knicks fan there's no way out of this. Dolan has to realize he's the problem or there's no hope.

Good points. I also am not a fan of Woodson but we saw what happened last season when the coach and the gm were actually on the same page in terms of what kind of team to put together. I have to think Bargs and Chris Smith were not his choices nor were they Grunwald's. Everything wrong just keeps leading back to Dolan.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

The only owner in NYC that cares about winning Prokorov. The only coach in NYC that cares about winning titles is high school coach Dwayne (Tiny) Morton of Abraham Lincoln high.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

We are in quicksand and can't get out. Dolan is a bad owner. We have been set back 3-4 years and Melo may be too old to win here. We said Hardaway could not be touched in the trade. Hell everything should be on the trading block Hardaway will wound up being a jamal crawford. But Crawford is better.

What would be so bad about that? He'd be signed for a long contract, teams would give up a lot of assets to get him.

what teams would give up a lot for him at this point? if anything this disastrous campaign in new york has exposed how overpaid he is and how difficult he is to play with.

he has painted himself into a corner here in new york and i hope management forces a cheap contract on him in the range of 13-14 million.

but who are the suitors for his services? will you make a list?

I think he'll see interest from Chicago, LA, Washington, and Miami and they can have him as far as I'm concerned. Would much rather lose him for nothing than pay $20M+ until he's 35.

okay i don't think any of these teams are going to be suitors for him. but if you don't mind outlining scenarios i am all ears.

and if there are no takers then he is stuck here and can be forced to take a much smaller contract as i said. dude is not worth more than 13 million a year.

I don't know what sort of scenario you're looking for?

The Bulls can have around $14M in cap space this Summer if the amnesty Boozer and they'll have another $8M if they can trade Gibson and not take back salary.

The Lakers will have about $25M in cap space this Summer.

The Wizards will have about $15M in cap space this Summer.

The situation with the Heat has been documented before but if their big 3 opt out they would have enough room to resign them plus Melo for around $14M/year.

I forgot to mention Dallas. They'll have about $34M in cap space next Summer though some of that will go to Dirk who's a free agent.

Hell, he could even go to Phoenix which will have bout $24M in cap space minus whatever they use to resign Bledsoe who'll be a RFA.

With the possible exception of LA, those teams are all currently better than the Knicks and have obvious paths to immediately improve. If I were Melo I'd go with just about any of those teams except LA over the Knicks.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Anybody who supprts woodson, supports switching on defense, horrible PnR defense, a lack of ability to raise his players IQ, a lack of a rotation, exhausting players to there worthless in the 4th qtr.

A coach that doesn't look at stat sheets, and more importantly, has the lowest IQ of any coach in the league.

well it's not just the fact that teams have money it's more an existential issue of who would want to bring carmelo anthony to their team at this point. it's about fit, chemistry, synergy.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Dallas is an interesting option. They have no state or city income tax so Melo could take less and still net what he might get some place. Also, they have a great coach and a great owner. I think the other place he could go would be Chicago. I think he would blow up there playing with teammates that are capable and being well coached. My gut says he stay in NY though.
