Its a good trade for 30 games. He is a shooter who can also handle and drive. Hes almost 200 pounds so hes no small guy either. He would provide a ballhandler who cna take over 1 or play with 1 like Pablo does and spread the floor wider. But unlike Novak--Jimmer is not one dimensional and has unknown upside. A guy needs a chance and playing next to Carmelo would be great for him. For Udirh is a no brainer fans would love it.

As per Real GM
New York
2014 second round draft pick from Sacramento
Sacramento's 2014 2nd round pick to New York (via Boston) protected for selections 31-55 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Sacramento's obligation to New York will be extinguished) [Boston-Sacramento-Toronto, 2/19/2009 and then Boston-New York, 2/18/2010]

Picks traded away:

2014 first round draft pick to Denver
New York's 2014 1st round pick to Denver [Denver-Minnesota-New York, 2/22/2011]; Denver may convey this pick to Orlando (see Denver Debits)

2014 second round draft pick to Houston
New York's 2014 2nd round pick to Houston [Houston-New York, 7/11/2012]

2015 second round draft pick to Houston
New York's 2015 2nd round pick to Houston [Houston-New York, 7/11/2012]

2016 first round draft pick to Denver
Denver has the right to swap its 2016 1st round pick for New York's 2016 1st round pick [Denver-Minnesota-New York, 2/22/2011]; New York will convey the less favorable of these two picks to Toronto (see New York Debits)

2016 first round draft pick to Toronto
New York will convey the less favorable of its 2016 1st round pick and Denver's 2016 1st round pick to Toronto (via Denver's right to swap for New York) [Denver-Minnesota-New York, 2/22/2011 and then New York-Toronto, 7/10/2013]

2016 second round draft pick to Sacramento
New York's 2016 2nd round pick to Sacramento (via Portland) protected for selections 31-37 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then New York's obligation to Sacramento will be extinguished) [New York-Portland, 7/15/2012 and then New Orleans-Portland-Sacramento, 7/10/2013]

2017 second round draft pick to Toronto
New York's 2017 2nd round pick to Toronto [New York-Toronto, 7/10/2013]

The Knicks are a tough out when they have shooters that can spread the floor. Jimmer would be a good pickup.

Exactly people get all giddy over these trades and then panic when he the team actually gets worse with no assets and picks to improve

It's like some of you became Knicks fans yesterday. Come on we should know better by now

Knicks can't take back salary for picks like the cavs or other teams. They moved second rounders to create more cap space for 2015. Grunwald couldn't change the cap situation so that the Knicks were players and under the cap for this deadline. The Knicks being capped out isn't a new thing. Making moves with second rounders to improve that situation is bad?

A 2nd rounder for a guy like fredette is fine. I disagree with starting fredette, jr and Melo. There is no defense there never mind the fact that fredette is small. If we were to trade THJ for Lowry then I would be ok with Fredette and jr as back up guards

Would they take a 2nd in 2018. I think that's the only 2nd rd pick we have left

Maybe beno and 2018 2nd round pick

no thanks. we need someone who can guard the position and orchestrate in whatever capacity such that we have a positive-sum player. he ain't

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Only if you can get two 2nd round picks for Beno and used the one that is not a 14 pick to get jimmer.

Wouldn't beno have to be included in the deal to make the money work? 2018 is the only 2nd round pick we have left

jimmer is not even close to the answer, he's really suspect on the defensive end

it makes so much sense it will never happen

if you do this would you then use THjr in a trade for Lowry? Keep Shump, add Jimmer, use THjr and parts to get Lowry. Move JR to the SL and bring Jimmer off the bench

No way I trade Hardaway for Lowry. I'd keep THJ this guy is will be one of the best three point shooters of all time by the time he is finished playing the game. His game will expand over time. I'm not sold on Lowry beside his new contract is almost guaranteed to never match his production. From this year.

he's a shooter... we can one anywhere... draft or dleague or FA

OK, how many guards per year are drafted or taken from the d league that score a point per 2 min at a 50%/40% (2 and 3 pointers) rate? Shooters are replaceable. Outstanding scorers aren't.

He is not just a shooter he is a slasher/fast break finisher something the Knicks have very little of.

That is very much true. Fish's magnificent eyeball detector is missing stuff that even I see.

Yea we haven't had a guy like THJ in ages. Like I said the other day you are selling Tim Hardaway short if you think you can replace him with a dleauger. He is not a spot up jump shooter like Hubert Davis and Steve Novak. Those guys you can find sitting at the end of someone's bench. THJ might never be a starter. He might never be able to defend and rebound but he is a talent and this team severely lacks talent
