So you would turn down this trade if you were the Knicks? Really?

just getting talent isn't the trick..I don't think he's a good fit with KD and he certainly wont make anybody better on this team team

I disagree here. I think besides what Westbrook does for your team athletically, I think he contributes more from a competitive aspect. This guy busts it all the time. Any comparison to Steve Fracis is a joke. BTW there is no way this trade will happen. Knicks getting this lucky? no way

Why is the comparison to Steve Francis a joke? I happen to think that it is very appropriate. With the Rockets, he average 19ppg, 6rpg and 6apg without the benefit of playing with a Kevin Durant type player (for the record Westbrook's career averages are 20ppg, 5rpg and 7apg). I actually think that Francis is the better player of the two because he did everything Westbrook could and also had the 3 ball earlier in his career.

Basketball reference compares Westbrook with Isiah, Drexler, Iverson. Westbrook is only 25, Francis burnt out after 27. Westbrook has a passion for this game. Great player to have on your team. No one ever said that about Francis

This is from a yahoo contributor. Essentially a fan post. Where it says why OKC would do it, it should say because I am a knicks fan.

This deal isn't even realistic, unless Westbrook's injury is very serious and is unable to play this season, and have concerns for ever regaining to his former self

Someone like Rhondo and actually Derrick Rose *because of his MAX salary and 2nd serious injury while basically not playing for a couple years*

The Thunder would be better off amnestying Perkins than use Westbrook to shed his salary in addition to acquiring a poor contract in Raymond Felton and currently Iman Shumpert's value isn't very high

Of course it is worthwhile for The Knick's to do....

Unless OKC gets back Melo

or

We AT LEAST give up 2 future 1st rounders, maybe 3 because of Felton's contract, OKC should not even think about it
They are better off getting expirings than those poor contracts

It is like me suggesting we should trade Chandler for Paul George, Lebron, or CP3
Of course we should do it but why would OKC do such a move that would basically tell Durant to leave OKC and do a full blown rebuild without the draft picks to back it up
Losing Harden while not amnestying Perkins instead for a couple million difference from the max deal

Now if they get rid of Westbrook JUST to get rid of Perkin's salary, without the ability to sign a player with that cap space, trade for a STAR to compensate for him, or multiple role players and draft picks when they have the best record in the league is absurd

Unless Westbrook's injury is VERY serious like a Derrick Rose/Brandon Roy type of injury

We also don't have gm to make this trade even if we could. What a joke

People act like the Thunder were not winning with Westbrook? Maybe the Clips should trade Paul because he held Griffin back.

Anyway, why wouldn't the Thunder want one of the most efficient offensive forces in the NBA that also is a major defensive force as well. Plus Tyson is a great teammate and leader. Really the Thunder are getting the better player.

And your point is.....

In any case, Westbrook could well be burnt out by 27 if he continues to get injured as much as he has. The fact remains that at this point in their respective careers, both guys are nearly carbon copies of one another. As for Francis, Jeff Van Gundy had nothing but positive things to say about him so I'd disagree with your assertion to the contrary.

No one acts like that. We just recognize the obvious flaws in his game. He's nothing to write home about, which will become painfully obvious once he loses that athleticism of his.
