-Curry trade was one of the worse in league history

-Keep in mind he gave Jamal Crawford a 6 year deal and in order to get a 6th man he acquired Jerome Williams and his 7MM a year salary over three years. That deal was horrible.

-Trading Nazr for two late draft selection, he moved an expiring deal for Malik Rose and his $9MM salary. The pick became David Lee, however he gave up an asset in order to make the deal when picks were available for purchase at $3MM with no cap ramifications

-Nate Robinson? He traded a veteran winning player in Kurt Thomas for Q-Rich and his massive uninsured deal. Another cap killing trade for a player that likely would have been on the board in the second round

-Drafting Balkman over three point guards?

We are the only team in the league outside of the Nets that doesn't protect draft selections. This franchise will never produce a winner. We are giving Melo 130MM we are not smart enough to cut bait and secure assets to build a better team.

same morons running the team.. same results.... you know dolan is itching to give carmelo that franchise killing deal.... smh..

Bulls thinking forward.

They have their own pick this year and Bobcats which is top 10 protected. Could have two 1st rounders in the top 20?
Money to resign Butler who is young.
Still have Noah and Rose.
Can amnesty Booze and make a run for Melo.
They tried to sign Deng for 10mil a year. Its what they thought he is worth.
Trade saves them 15mil.

While I can't speak for Melo but I'd say the bulls future is brighter than ours. melo won't get top money from Bulls but he goes to a roster that has a better chance of winning in the next 4 years than knicks whose cupboard is thin.

Deng is very underrated on both sides of the court and Short term bulls will miss him. If your tanking you got to get rid of quality guys. If Noah gets shelved as his chronic foot problems inflame you'll know. They tried to sign him which to me showed loyalty. They could not agree on price. rather than lose him for nothing they got some value.

Moves like this add up over time.

RonRon wrote:truth was Isiah did collect some talent players that DID NOT MIX

Nate
Crawford
Wilson Chandler
ZBO
David Lee

Curry was a horrible move and a very costly one
are all very good players but NOT TOGETHER and NOT without a TRUE PG and C (Curry couldn't rebound or defend and neither could ZBO or Lee at the C position for long stretches)
Crawford was our #1 or #2 player but is a 6th man type player that needs a TRUE PG

outside of Curry, overpaying for Jared Jeffries and FAT BOY JAMES and FATSPOON *TO REPLICATE LJ*
while grabbing Marbury first

Even Isiah knew what right mix of players could mesh to win a championship when he played in Detroit.

So for him to come to NY and try to mesh the wrong pieces baffles my mind. They had role players and two-way players so why would he have tried to duplicate that today if he was really trying to put together a winner ?

I think Isiah tried to get as many players as he could knowing they didnt quite fit.He was more concerned about what next years team could look like rather then build on the players he actually had. Isiah was compiling as many players as he could regardless of fit to try to make that 1 splash trade but it never came

If Melo is retained at 30+years old at $130mil I will officially give up on this team

If we dont start tearing this team down by the 2014 FA period i will give up my fandom. With how bad our ownership is and the stink this franchise has on it in the noses of current players, our only chance is to build a team through the draft.

Nice work if you can get it......

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/10263481/andrew-bynum-contacted-eight-teams

Eight teams have contacted Andrew Bynum's representatives about adding the 7-foot center to their rosters, according to a source close to the situation.

Bynum, who was released by the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday, is expected to sign with a club by the end of the week, the source said.

Stein: Bynum's Market Blossoms

Andrew Bynum should clear waivers Thursday, and it seems he won't have to wait much longer after that to have a new employer, Marc Stein writes. Blog

The Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers are widely believed to be among the teams interested in acquiring the two-time championship center.

One league executive who recently spoke with Heat president Pat Riley told ESPN.com, "I'm certain that Riley is going to go hard after Bynum."

Sources told ESPN.com's Marc Stein on Wednesday that the Dallas Mavericks are among the eight teams that have registered interest in Bynum this week. But Dallas -- one of the prime bidders for Bynum's services this past summer before he signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers -- is limited to offering him a minimum salary.

Sources say, furthermore, that the Brooklyn Nets are not planning to pursue Bynum despite being granted a disabled player exception worth up to $5.25 million in the wake of Brook Lopez's season-ending foot injury. The Atlanta Hawks, meanwhile, are "unlikely" to lodge a bid for Bynum to replace the injured Al Horford, according to one source close to the process.

Bynum's decision will come down to several factors, according to the source. He will consider playing time, the club's chances for playoff success and money.

Financial compensation will not be a small factor considering that Bynum's release by the Bulls meant he receives only $6 million of his $12.3 million salary for this season. Bynum was traded from Cleveland to Chicago on Monday.

"It doesn't necessarily have to be a contender," the source said of Bynum's choice. "He's looking to play and be utilized."

Miami has its midlevel exception available as well as a need for a viable big man to combat Indiana's Roy Hibbert.

The Clippers, on the other hand, are limited to offering Bynum the veteran's minimum.

Bynum is expected to clear waivers Thursday at 5 p.m. ET.
