the season was doomed as soon as anthony opened his piehole saying he wanted to test free agency. what a ****ing moron. his teammates are not going to give genuine effort... it's human nature and besides anthony doesn't put energy into defending and doesn't play for anybody but himself. this has been the red thread of his entire career-- he does not play for others. it creates toxicity. carmelo anthony totally sucks. top ten player? don't make me laugh

additionally, woodson's favoritism and cow-towing to the owner vis a vis the changing of agents sealed his fate. the players are not playing for him. he too sucks.

dolan totally sucks. and while we're at it mills and houston suck too.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Freedom of speech

Melo can say whatever he wants. stop whining.

Dk7th - no, it is the Curse of Chris Smith and the firing of GM Glen Grunwald

Did you notice the Knicks record without Tyson chandler?

The rest of the conference is so bad and there's no picks, so you might as well play it out. Get everyone healthy and see what you have.

melo the u.s. citizen has that right. melo the employee and teammate doesn't. i am not particularly surprised the distinction is lost on you. so melo can't say whatever he wants unless you hold the belief that his FU money means he is above consequences. do you believe that? sure looks that way.

please face facts: his statements were unprofessional in the extreme and were spirit-killing. he just can't help himself because he is such a dumb and selfish *******. no amount of FU money can hide that fact.

So did you think this was a great team before Melo said that? From the countless times you've put our struggles on Melo talking about free agency, it seems as if you think this team would be one of the best in the league had he not talked. The team is struggling for many reasons and I don't think one of them is Melo saying that. I really think that only effects Melo as it seems he's got one foot out the door.

Speaking of which, I really wouldn't mind seeing Melo go now. Some of his play has really turned me off and the fact that he's going to ask for a ton of money isn't helping either.

Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

Need to accomplish:
1) upgrade PG. We need someone who can bring anything to the table. Kyle Lowry and Darren Collison come to mind as guys who could be had and add a new dimension here. Collison = speed Lowry a guy who can get into the paint and make a play.

2) dump the deadwood. Easier said than done but hopefully Barg's #s get to a point where some folks around the league are willing to take a shot. Im not deluding myself into thinking we can find a take for JR, but if he has any stretch of reasonable basketball I would take any offer. Addition by subtraction.

3)get healthy. Hard to say Tyson's legs will be fresh (maybe one will be) but getting him healthy, and getting any consisten production from Amare/KMart will be huge. Amare's bench role last year would be epic.

4) Laugh at stupid Knick fans.

Rebuilding makes no sense. Not without a pick this year. Stay the course, hold the coaches and players accountable and get them playing better. My god there are 60+ games left to get this right.

We fix this (and not even fast) and the Knicks will be the 4 seed, beat some crapola team in the first round and Dolan will telling all the donkey Knick fans that this team has advanced 2 years in a row and after we get eliminated the goal will be to compete for a title next year.

Sorry, but I have yet to read a rebuilding scenario on this board that makes sense (now).

This is what I think can and will happen.

honestly fish, staying the course will only delay the growth or the potential of ever building a winner..

Here is a rebuilding scenario that makes sense.. start with trading carmelo for anything you can get. That would be a great start, especially if you can get a pick out of it..

next dump chandler for a pick and expiring if you can..

that plan right there is better than staying this course..

that 54 win team you eluded to, not only overachieved but they Retired.

Anyone who sits around and waits for the lottery to better themselves, either in real life or in sports, Is a Loser............... TKF

no i never claimed the team was going to be great or among the best. kidd isn't here. the team took a step backwards from last year because we lost vets and made a sideways move for bargnani.

but they were going to be a 41-47 win team regardless... until he sabotaged the team with his bumbling. he hurt the team and we are seeing the consequences. the main source of their failure is the lack of will. that's on melo.
