You'll gain that "win spike" that all teams get with a coaching change, but in reality the team isnt good, certainly not anwhere as good as last years.

These guys look lost mainly and they are, as there isnt anyone capable of leading them on the floor.

I feel bad for them on this road trip, all the best point guards and bigs will feast on the weaknesses we all knew the team had BEFORE the season.

They'll probably get a new coach right before Tyson returns. Why put a new coach in the position of running this squad now?

I'd bet they dont, as long as he has Melo's support I would really doubt Woody goes anywhere.

But if he actually does lose his job, I would think they have a replacement already on deck, and outside of Calipari Ive heard of no one.

This is why Woodson needs to go…WHY PLAY SHUMP AT PG WHEN YOU HAVE T.MURRY ON THE BENCH?!

Give the damn kid a look! At this point, whats the worse that can happen??? The Knicks lose ANOTHER game?

This is why I hate Coaches like MDA and L.Brown…their inability (and fear) to try new things and get out of that damn box that they live in. fcuk!!

This team is not responding to the coach. They are done with him. When a team starts to miss free throws at the end it's a sign of players wanting a coaching change. - VMart

Our guards cannot keep up with the quality in the league.

Hitting his first seven shots, John Wall made Beno Idrih look like a stationary traffic cone. The night before, Udrih played well.

Pablo Prigioni can run the offense, but at 36 there is no way he can dictate defensive flow.

The Knicks fell behind 75-69 after three quarters, with the Wizards outscoring them 27-17 in the period. Their first half was crisp, notching 16 assists on 22 field goals and building a nine-point lead before the ball movement stopped in the final two quarters.

Changing the coach does not change the fact that talent wins basketball games.

Anyone who writes missed free throws are a sign of "players wanting a coaching change" deserves to have his keyboard drizzled with krazy glue.

One more thing, playing JR Smith is stunting the development of Tim Hardaway Jr, who shows signs of being a quick study.

Good Post.....Regardless of opposition, we always have a disadvantage in the back court and in a guard dominated league, thats a recipe for a long, frustrating season. Not only ca we not not score from the guard position (Felton 11pts, 37%fg....Shump 8 pts, 41% fg) but we cannot defend the guard position either. Prigs, Beno and Felt cannot stay in front of the opposing guards, which collapses our defense. No Chandler in the back means lay-up line for the opposition.

Atleast that is 4ward looking thinking. Will we give shumpert 40 min at ph? Not a chance

Hope not, Murry showed in limited minutes that he has better court vision than Shump. As I said in the game thread, Shump is an afterthought in the offense now. That might change with a Murry/Shump backcourt. Even if Shump looks a step slower a times, he is still a better defender than Beno and Felton. Would be a more dynamic backcourt and might be enough to jump start the offense and give us some much needed energy. I hope we do this sooner rather than later. It might not work, but there is only one way to find out. Its not like our PGs have done anything to keep Murry on the bench. Just have to hope Woodson is willing to give Murry a shot.

"We've got some difficult days ahead"

BRIGGS - losing a bushel of draft pick stings. Dreaming that our trash - Lin, Ariza, Gallinari, Lee and Nene ... with Wilson Chandler as sixth man... would be fun to root for... screams for continuity.

We can always build around Tim Hardaway Jr.

We're currently tied with Brooklyn for the 3rd worst record in the league. If Milwaukee wins tonight we'll be in last place in the conference due to tie breakers. According to basketball-reference we're the 6th worst team in the league. Hollinger has us 5th worst. We're probably going to sell low on our one young asset, Shumpert. Our imbecile owner just gave our incompetent head coach the public kiss of death.

It Happens Every February

VCoug - how does an incompetent coach win 54 games?

The franchise faces some hard choices at the trade deadline.

Pending the health and return of Tyson Chandler, and the body language of Carmelo Anthony, Steve Mills and Allan Houston will have an opportunity to impress Dolan with their fancy footwork, and long range strategy.

The renovation of Madison Square Garden is not complete.

Utah at leases looks 4ward to putting a franchise 20 year old player on their team. In the nba you can't be in the middle. Brooklyn and my are very similar although I think mj could make something out of Lopez Blanche plumber. We do not even have that. We have no good young players

Really? You're actually including Melo in that comment now?

At his age now and his shoulder issue, I wouldn't make him the corner stone of the franchise for the next 5 years at a zillion million dollars per year.

Why do you keep defending Woodson? It's gotten to the point where it's like you're related to him or something. He has no redeeming qualities as a coach. Our offense stinks, we make dumb mistakes at the end of games that are clearly a result of lack of direction, our defensive philosophy is just "switch" and we have one of the worst defenses in the league. In woody's press conferences he just repeats the same crap over and over and sounds like a defeated man. He only picks on certain players and this is clearly causing tension in the locker room. I understand how someone can say wait to fire him because we're not getting a good coach mid-year, but how can you still be defending this imbecile? You can say 54 wins all you like but it's meaningless, Woody is proving he had very little to do with the success of the team last year.

What are Houston's and Mills track record in the draft? We spent hundreds of millions of $ on bridges in MSG--can they spend 40mm to bring in Sam Presti who is proven?

You guys ought to try take your minds off all the Knicks problems. Why not talk about the old days for a minute? Have you ever heard about the time when Magic Johnson decided to drive to Detroit? Well, as chances would have it, he didn't make it to the game on time because he blew a piston.

Vinny Del Negro won 56 games last year and I don't know that I've ever seen a worse coach than him.

Scott Brooks has won 50, 55, 58(equivalent), and 60 games the past 4 years but can't figure out that Kendrick Perkins is basically ****ing useless.

Mike Brown has won 50, 50, 45, 66, 61, and 50(equivalent) games during his career and is only a little better than Del Negro.

Are you a D'Antoni fan? I bet you're not. But he has seasons of 62, 54, 61, and 55 wins.

The Answer Man Defended Don Chaney, Lenny Wilkens, Jeff Van Gundy and Wanted Mark Jackson On The Short List

Q. Dagger - Why do you keep defending Woodson?

A. Because he was not the one who decided to keep Chris Smith or fire Glen Grunwald two weeks before training camp. That kind of chaos and favoritism is never a good thing.

I agree that those two things were very damaging to the team, but they are not the only problems.
