The only thing we can hope for is that by some miracle Felton starts playing better on both ends, JR starts to take better shots, pass once in a while and drive to the basket. Hopefully get more out of KMart and hope the team gets hot shooting. This team was built to be a good offensive team. If they don't score the ball they don't have enough defense to just stop teams consistently. Even with Tyson back this team has some holes on D. Still it is true that a lot of the problems can get better with more effort and working together as a unit, which hasn't happened so far this season.

melo does not lift the play of others. if jr could pass it to himself he would and i think he actually has a few times. and ray felton is hot potato pg that moves it east/west.

when your best passer is bargs, then the team has no shot at being a solid cohesive offensive unit.

there is no fix for this by changing head coach. i am seeing this same exact thing with the raptors. demar + rudy have no idea how to pass and make others better which kills the offense. this is a very very fundamentally flawed roster with limited team-first players. any coaching change will be a short lived burst of 5 hour energy before you come crashing down...

dolan's emergence from the shadows has already forecasted how this season will play out...and you're seeing it.

The only thing melo needs to do is play more with in the flow of the game, and that will only come when you get a coach with a different offensive system and a pg that can run an offense..

like MDA? Who after Linsanity asked Melo to get his offense in the flow of the game. Like that? Fools gold man. A new coach isnt fixing this.

for 13 seasons it has always been some one else or something else.. coach, lack of PG, PG, lack of help... No a new coach isn't fixing this at all like you said.. first it was dantoni.. woody was supposed to be the father figure.. now woodson is the problem.. this is so predictable..

woodson sucks as a coach but he isn't the problem. melo is a flawed player, but he isn't the probleml, the roster doesn't mesh at all, that's the problem.

The one constant over the 13 years is DOLAN. He is a STUPID mfer...when it comes to the Knicks. Nothing will change unless he sells the team.

The Knicks model(when Walsh is not here)

1. Turnover the tem, bring in a new batch of saviors
2. Watch the fans pretend that the new batch of saviors will work this time.
3. Watch the fans turn on coach as the new batch of saviors fail to mesh over the short time period
4. Fire the coach or gm
3. Fire the coach or gm(whoever was left standing in prior step)
4. Trade away all available assets including young guys, draft picks and cap space for the next batch of saviors
5. Watch the fans pretend............

bona fide and Chris Smoth in the same sentence?

Not from what the answer Man witnessed in person, in Baltimore

J.R. Smith was a free agent over the summer and talked about taking less money to stay with the Knicks, who could offer only the early-Bird exception that, under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, started at $5.5 million. When the undrafted Chris Smith changed agents to J.R.’s rep, Leon Rose, last spring, some in the league saw it as a “package deal."

But, according to a league official, the league decided Chris Smith was enough of a bona fide NBA prospect to justify the club keeping him.

Chris Smith shot 1-of-7 from the field in 20 minutes

More important, CSmith played like a someone in the wrong place at the wrong time.

lots of people watch but very few actually see.

When Woody took over for MDA and everyone played hard he was really good coach. Last year when the troops were a rotating carosel of old men and D league players, but happy he was a 54 win coach. Now with the owner's taint all over this offseason he sucks.

Ah that's a good one too.
But he wasn't here last year to know what's been going on.

Remember Tyson spoke up and complained how the team didn't step up and everybody jumped over him because how poor he played in the playoffs. That took some guts to do that!

The 13 game win streak we had no tyson, no kt, no amare, no camby, no sheed..You forgot we signed earl baron.

It was essentially copeland, kmart, even novak and melo played spot Center some nights. The effort was there almost every night..

Knicks1248 - thank you for the documentation to help make the point.

Sheed - gone

Kurt - gone

Camby - gone but not missed

Copeland - gone

Novak - gone

The young players like Cope, Shump played their hearts out for the likes of Sheed , Camby, and KT. They expressed how much they learned from THEM !

Woody was playing with their heads

Set the Wayback Machine for 1999

playa - Ron World Peace is perceptive enough, and experienced enough, to know the deal in New York.

The moment the Knicks passed on him in the draft, Artest KNEW the Knicks suits were driven by politics ans perception.

It absolutely, positively was not about talent.

That was a brutal draft. Sitting, watching, and hoping somehow that Ron falls to the Knicks and then he does and they pass on him.

MDA's tenure here was a transition period, im not sure what people expected from a coach who changed rosters every 90 days..then talk about woods needs time to incorporate 4 new players...Please don't judge MDA as a coach who came here to save the franchise because that was not the case.

The knicks roster was 100% drama free last yr, not one single player was worried about contract issues, playing time, or what there role was.

The effort ain't there because the coach has no idea, and it makes matters worse by the way the franchise has catered to JR, benching beno, calling out shump to often, not having control over amare and kmart's PT..

You added 4 guys who are prime players, not bench warmers. It was easy to bench KT, camby (role players) or brewer,

Either a coaching change or a trade is almost necessary, or maybe a couple of big wins to boost confidence, I doubt the latter, because these issues were as plain as day in the preseason..too many players that can play, and you can't play 10 to 12 guys, you just can't do it

Isiah Thomas is calling all the moves once Donnie Walsh left, says Craig Carton on the fan. He claimed he got this info from somebody.

I have the same feeling, Zeke came to NY to sabotage the basketball team and fans never picked up on it.

He sent the CBA into bankruptcy too !

There has to be somebody from the last 10 years that can write a book about the knicks and playing for James Dolan.

Maybe "big snacks" Jerome James, Don Chaney,Tim "Fugazy" Thomas, Malik Rose, Mardy Collins, Larry Hughes etc....
