I guess compared to that one he is in better shape than he will ever be. Don't think he will ever be the speedy day Felton from UNC. Regardless his floor leadership and court vision and defense sucks

hibbert is getting praised all over the place because he worked out with duncan. Felton has a camp for kids reveals he has changed his diet and lost 15lbs working out and he gets trashed on a fan board for his team?

Yep, you know the score by now- a player is over weight "oh fatty, they're a disgrace etc etc", player changes their diet, works hard all summer and loses weight "oh they're still fat, they should have done that all along, it's their job, etc etc". Best fans in the world!

New York USED to be known for their KNOWLEDGEABLE fans. Now being the old head that I am, it seems to me like New York fans are cynical, over the top emotionally effeminate anti-fans.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Speaking for myself I was never a Felton fan and I'm not the one who said he should've been in shape in the first place. I don't care if our pg weighs 300lbs as long as he can run the team like a true pg and hit an open shot.

Sorry but him losing 15LBs does not excite me at all. We still need an upgrade at starting pg

Felton is an easy target for some because he does not conform to the romantic image of an athletic idol. Felton will never be described as handsome, photogenic or someone "who could marry my daughter."

It's not about his floor leadership, court vision or defense because his skillet is on par with the savior he replaced. It's purely image and superficial grading on a resentful curve.

Raymond Felton is from Latta, South Carolina. There is nothing sympathetic or newsworthy about that.

Just another dude with an ugly game, right?

This.

There are still a couple of grown men "creaming" for that guy. SMH

That's what CP3, D-Will, TP and the better PGs around the league do. Those guy's are there every sec. of every game. For me, Ray can't slack off -- getting the weight down is great -- it'll help him...Now he's talking about being more vocal, more of a leader and he's always talking about playing with a chip on his shoulder. He's saying the right things -- now he's gotta do it! Peddle to the metal!! MSG network just replayed the game we won in SA last year. Ray was GREAT that game!! Took on the challenge of playing against TP in his gym where he outplayed him and we got a huge W. Then there was the game in Miami where he went off and we grabbed another big road win...The talent's there, he just needs to bring it all the time now and play with more of a no holds barred/go hard or go home attitude. He tends to play too passive and disappear too often. I'd like to see ray develop more of a killer attitude out there.

Good points but simply put he needs to shoot better than 41% so teams stop forcing him to shoot 19 teams while Melo gets double and triple teamed. Is this the year where he shoots a respectable percentage? I asked the same thing last year and as I predicted he shot his career avg

The answer IMO is the Knicks improving the team around Felton and our PG's so that they have more capable options to pass to. We don't want to have to rely on big time scoring from our PG's. There should be more balance to the Knicks this year. The depth of the guards is going to also help as well. I don't see Felton as a problem in the least. I think he can be a very productive player when not overused. I think that's the case with most of the team. With such a deep roster no player should have to be played or depended upon too much. That's going to be the key to success for Felton and the team as a whole this year.

Would you feel better to know he shot 43%(42.7). Maybe this helps him get to the rim faster giving him one extra step which improves his overall game. There should be enough depth to keep his shots down and not go through that stretch where he was shooting so much. I liked that he seemed to improve as a spot up shooter so hopefully that continues

When Melo plays the right way everybody on the knicks plays better and are more involved and focused in the game. Ray Felton could do his thing ! You hear me Tony Parker

When you have Melo on the floor and you surround him with guys like pablo, Shump, Tyson and Felton you play the game to lose. Everyone is our if position and Tyson is now out matches and overwhelmed inside.

If the Knicks keep it traditional and mix it up game to game they will be ok. You can't put melo out there out of position and ask him to defend pass rebound and score too. Not even lebron can win with that much pressure. That's why he's in Miami. And Miami run him as a small fwd every Game. Let other guys handle the furry stuff and glue stuff. You put melo in position to be successful by giving him 4 options to pass to. And protect him with big men and ball handlers

You forgot entitled, self-centered, overly impressed with their own opinions and unable to accept the reality that billionaire owners and millionaire players don't truly give a fuhuck about what gets typed on a fan board.

Wow! Who was that guy wearing #5 for the Knicks making all those jumpers and nice passes? We could have used a guy like that in the playoffs. On another note, I wish we could have had Sheed around to mentor Bargnani on defense.

#5 Got back on the juice after the Hampton drunk driving incident, his game went south so he needed something to mask his shooting woes.

Melo shot a poor percentage in this game , but he became a decoy and made everybody around him better and the Spurs didn't know what to do.

The results...... the knicks won for the 1st time in 9 yrs in SANANTONIO.

I know we used to all love looking at photo's of Eddy Curry, trying to work out if he'd lost weight in the offseason, so here are the latest pics of Felton:

I'd say he does look thinner- glad he's been putting in the work.

I'd forgotten about that game, and how much fun it was following the team during that early stretch of the season- we looked great! Loved the way Melo played in that early stretch too. I liked the win streak at the end of the season too, but we never matched the defensive effort we put in during the early stretch.

This is great, 15 lbs will help anyone's game. The thing was I never thought Felton was slow. He was always good at penetrating, which is where the speed would come in. The problem was once that happened. No court vision to make a good pass and if the floater wasn't going a wasted possession. The other thing I noticed is that he would try to go end to end everytime his man scored on him. These problems won't disappear with the weight.
