JR guaranteed is like 11.5 mil. That third year is a player option. Are you arguing that Copeland and JR are equal players? JR deserves more money, not to mention we could ONLY have spent that much money on JR, there were no other options for that salary slot. I am not sure where the reasoning comes in here.

Money being equal, because in my mind based on the players it is equal in relation to the quality of player, what is the difference?

I don't object to the JR signing. I agree that we couldn't have spent it elsewhere. The topic of the thread was about why JR's injury is getting more attention than Copeland's is.

Beside the media hatred for everything New York I think it has more to do with JR being much more important to the Knicks than Copeland is to the Pacers. We have the reigning 6th man of the year and our 2nd highest scorer on the mend while Copeland is a bench player for the Pacers. However, had we been able to resign Cope with the pending knee surgery there would be a ton of backlash as in the Knicks don't know what the heck they're doing.

Beside the media hatred for everything New York yankees... throw in the giants at times. the rest... meh. having been outside the tri state area for 15+ years, the yankees remain the only team i have seen folks hate to no end, whether they are good or bad.
