wouldn't it make more sense to save the rest of the mini MLE on someone(especially a undrafted player) that we could lock into for 3 years with a team option to prevent a Chris Copeland from happening again...

Knicks got Metta. Probably a respect thing to offer the max they had available.

that is what it seems like to me.

If MWP wanted to come to NY, I don't see 200k making a difference in his decision
the worse case scenario if NO ONE from below

Nate Robinson/Udrih/Aaron Brooks

Dalembert

doesn't sign with us, we could split it with Tourry Murry/Jeremy Tyler to 3 year deal with team options on 3rd year, partial guarantee's
it prevents any Chris Copeland/Jeremy Lin like deals from happening to us, while keeping low salary/assets/players at low risk/high reward/cost efficient deals that would have little/no effect on our 2015 salary for FA's

Again, not money well spent, and not learning from our past mistakes...

I agree with RonRon - why not just the vet minimum since he will be getting his full salary of $7.7 mil. from the Lakers. But getting Metta WP is so freaking good for our team, that I don't care. We now can compete with anyone.

I love the interview. He is really out there, in a good way. In a NY way.

Now we have 2 New Yorkers playing for the NY Knicks. This, to me is a great positive. They grew up and excelled here. Their laws of nature are at home here.
Go New York Knicks.

Very happy to have him! We needed a SF, and he was the best one available. I know he's on the decline, but his attitude and toughness give us a boost.

I think we gotta tone it down a little. Look I have always wanted Artest to be a Knick despite the fact taht he is a loose cannon. i do think he will help. However the Knicks biggest problem is that we are thin when it comes to big men taht can rebound. We might match up well against miami but agianst the pacers/bulls/nets we will get killed in the paint unless Grunny gets creative

Don't tell us how to feel!

We want to celebrate having a native NYer coming home, let us be!

We're not popping bottles celebrating a championship, we're merely celebrating "a good move".

Have a little faith in Grunwald for once. He's addressing alot of our needs already slowly but surely. SHEESH!

Nice. Now he is our head case. This will lead to good things. Always liked this dude and his ferocity. Hopefully it wil rub off on some of "stars". Welcome back to NY - MWP.

GREAT interview. If you can't get excited after that you don't have a pulse. You can see its a dream come true for Artest.

Acquiring Artest/ World Peace (The Answer Man predicts a name change) reduces the weight on Bargnani. if Artest/ World Peace starts at forward, Woodson has the luxury of added offense off the bench.

Carmelo and Metta will be the Odd Couple. Their level of mutual respect could be the most intriguing storyline of training camp.

It's too perfect.
