Apparently, Artest doesn't want to play in the NBA including the Knicks. Says he wants to play in China. Now the joy of my world is in Zion
How beautiful if nothing more
Than to wait at Zion's door
I've never been in love like this before
Now let me pray to keep you from
The perils that will surely come

I read that if he retires, he forfeits the rest of his Laker salary ($7.27m). I can't picture anyone doing that -- even he's not that crazy...What if he elects to go to China? Same thing--does he leave that money on the table? And what if he doesn't officially retire but doesn't elect to sign with anyone, instead remain a FA for the year? What then?? I'm not sure this rule that if he retires he forfeits the money is fair. Doesn't make much sense really -- the amnestying team knows full well what they're getting into when they elect to cut a player by doing this. They accept the consequences and know that in order to open up the cap room, they must still pay the player. Once the player's cut loose, what difference does it make what he does with himself? If he retires, why should he forfeit the money and why should that team be taken off the hook like that? They got what they wanted -- they didn't want said player anymore, instead opting to open up cap room. The player never asked out -- he signed an agreement to play out his contract with said team. The team is the party terminating the agreement. When a buyout's conducted, an agreement is reached and then the player could do whatever he wants afterward. Sometimes guys retire, yet they don't have to give back their buyout money, right? Strange element to the amnesty rule that needs to be revised. The Players Union needs to have this changed to better protect their players.. Anyway, I don't think Artest's retiring -- also read that he's interested in the Clippers (they did just lose Caron Butler in that trade with PHX). Get the feeling he wants to stay in the LA area...His family (specifically his old man) are the ones who seem to be pushing for NY. |

"I'm going to China, I won't play for a small market team, I'm so nutty who knows what I'll do" will throw the teams under the cap off the trail. once he clears waivers this guy will be a Knick. no way he's passing up $7 mil (if he retires he forfeits the $) #Knickstaps

They bid a few hundred thousands, and get his rights. If he wants to play in the nba, he has to play for them, if he doesn't they don't actually lose anything. |

![]() Sounds like he would like to stay in LA with the Clippers.
While it may be good poetry to say he’s coming home [to New York] and it’s full circle, I’m looking at it more from a pragmatic view,’’ Davis said. “What would be the best opportunity, the quality of the team, financial.’’ http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/knicks/peace_out_Z3hViOUkRhg7Tng2EP0gWP?utm_medium=rss&utm_content=Knicks I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18
