Anyone know why Isaiah Canaan hasn't been playing in these games for Houston? Last 2 games he's been a 'DNP coach's decision'... Is he hurt?

Just noticed this on the front page, no Cope Mistake:

About seven teams looked to sign Leslie, but he chose the Knicks, who offered him a two-year deal at the league minimum.

“I felt like I connected with the coaches the most,’’ Leslie said. “I turned down better offers.’’

Also mentioned we were going to try to trade up for the guy if Hardaway Jr. was taken before our pick...

2 1st round picks (to our management).

Feel bad for Leslie going into this a little. With our stubborn as F head coach, it's gonna be slow in the early going for this dude. Woodson's already on the record as saying Leslie 'has a ways to go." I dunno man -- I still see Artest as a difference maker but if that never materializes -- I say play and develop Leslie right away. You know that's not gonna happen though and this is gonna be Copeland part deux..

Im wrong on Rudy Gobert. He should be able to be a very solid high% center who can also block a fair amount of shots--the kind of center who get 10-12 mm on his next contract. He can rebound he blocks shots hes a big presence and he's going to make a very high % of shots which will be 75% dunks. This sure is not Patrick Ewing--but can this be Tyson Chandler with more shot blocking---yep.

On the other hand both Trey Burke and MCW--from what I have seen have a LOT of work to do. SL is only a small sampling--but you want to atleast show something against inferior talent to the NBA. I think MCW did that a bit although they are going to have to keep his jumpshot locked down--Trey Burke has showed he is not that big not that fast and has been able to be guarded--on top of which he has NOT orchestrated.

For the Tony Mitchell fans--hes done very little else other than rebound the entire week--cant shoot and hasnt finished well. Hes an NBA player off the bench--but right hes a role playing energy guy who might be on the wrong team for his skills.

Peyton Siva in terms of control of the team--has played much much better than Trey Burke. He's more athletic quicker and seems to set the team up better. He should be a quality back up in the nBA.

Is the tony Mitchell on our SL roster the same one that we were supposed to draft in the 1st rd according to a lot of mocks. He didn't get drafted at all?

don't the Knicks SL start today? I set my DVR either way.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Here's something to put summer league in perspective. Derrick Rose was horrendous in his first year: http://www.nba.com/media/bulls/cumulative_080711.pdf.
Nikoloz Tskitishvili averaged nearly 26 points a game one year: http://www.nba.com/summerleague2008/history.html
Anthony Randolph averages about 27 points, 9 rebounds, two steals and three blocks one year: http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/basketball/fba/story?page=nbaoffseason090722

While it's easy to write a player off or hype one up, gotta remember it's only SL.

Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right. - The Tick

Absolutely true--but I think most players should show some of theirbonafides/ goods here and you get a good sense of how players might start out. Derek Rose was going to be good and a guy like Randolph could be good--I think for the most case it gives you a good clip of what the player might be in year 1. Its also much easier for guys who have played in the NBA to come back into the sl and play well--Im looking at year 1 guys.

i agree...not impressed with mitchell at all. hes just an athletic talent...thats it...
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

He can be all right--I think hes on the wrong team with DRummond Smith and Monroe. Hes going to get rebounds and thats a big skill

Houston all over the nets today. Greg Smith with a nice game -- 12 & 9. Seems like a real nice, humble, respectful kid. With D-12 in the mix, there's a lot of nice pieces in place. This team could be scary good if it all clicks...60-win good.

Another DNP for I. Canaan. What's up with that? Why hasn't he seen any action? I don't think he's played at all yet..

great question. i thought (well i was hoping), hed beat out beverly for back up PG and then wed sign beverly

i still think the rockets need a LEGIT PF to be a real contender

I know a lot of you guys are not ecited about Hardaway, but I am. He seems like he can be a very good role player for us. It looks like he has been a knockdown shooter in all the videos since draft time.
