Shaq was NOT a leader. A leader doesn't often come into camp out of shape. The leader on that team WAS Phil and not just because he was the coach. If anyone was the leader on that team it was Kobe who's insane work ethic and demanding nature would not allow him to except less that a total commitment from his teammates. Thats why he was so pissed at Shaq ALWAYS coming into camp fat and bloated.
Shaq is and was TOO MUCH of a kid to be considered a leader by anyone. People don't view clowns as leader. You may like to be around them, but they don't inspire you to follow them.
