Then you can determine if he did well last year.

My guess is go goal was:

1. finish ahead of the Nets

We have no doubt what Prokhorov's directive was after he took on Joe Johnson's contract...

.....nothing wrong with wanting to finish ahead of the nets. My point is fans want long term real success and not a starphuch. The directive of "win now" vs. building from within. If Grunwald was told to do this, he is not on the hotseat.

The directive has always been win now...Dudes still get fired..I do think the media plays a role in how quickly Dolan pulls the trigger..My thinking is Grunwald will start getting some media attention if we don't improve...

Dolan never wanted to fire Isiah. I can almost believe when its "Dolans Idea" you get a free pass even if the media is on him.

Basically what your saying is blame will rest somewhere even if the cause is not on him?

So we have a public that after a unlikley successful season might have expectations beyond the on court/roster talent and if it does not live up to this bloated sense of entitlement, and woodson gets a free pass then Grunny gets bad press because of likley poor roster construction?

Sounds about right!

All that work to put together a Contending team last year has almost no carry over to this year. That doesn't normally happen, but when you invest in so many old vets, that's what happens. It was worth a shot and it didn't work, so now back to the drawing board.

Melo, Shump, Felton, Novak and Tyson is your core, with hopefully a healthier STAT and Camby. GEEZ!!! That aint much at all. Do we bring back JR, Cope and Prigs? That still leaves a HUGE gaping hole in the roster. His job is even harder than last year given the diminished resources. The core isn't bad but he's got to hit a home run on most of his coming moves and draft pick.

come on man,

grunwald didn't build a contending team last year,

that's just the line they fed the fans, hook line and fish it,

grunwald's not an idiot, he's aware of what new york is doing:

patching a quilt together for the dull, zombie eyes;

they're gonna patch another quilt together for next season, keep filling the fish bowl up and they'll win some regular season games--- mission accomplished,

They did this during Ewing era too.

I don't know. Dolan had to be told to hire a replacement for Isiah by Stern. He still didn't fire him and tried to bring him back. I believe that he teared up when he had the press conference to fire Layden after a very unsuccessful tenure. I think Dolan is pretty hands off with his gm. I think the flavor of the month coach period was Isiah not Dolan. Dolan got into it with Larry Brown but I think everybody else was totally on Isiah.
I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18
