Ultimately, the refeering improved in the 2nd half but that doesn't say much considering how abyssmal it was to start. I mean, they called two phantom fouls against Shumpert and Martin in the final minutes of the game, which NEVER get called. The league needs to investigate these guys because I'm sure there are a few Tim Donaghey's in the bunch.

Don't think the league wasn't in on it.

Right. The NBA desperately wanted the small market NY Knicks to lose to the large market Indiana Pacers to setup the greatly anticipated Miami-Indy ECF.

For a large market team they got jack to show for banners.

Exactly. League knows the ratings for the ECF will be much higher if the most populous city in the country isn't represented.

I'm sorry but it's very simple. The knicks get no respect at all. Forgot to mention Reggie Miller as an announcer for 2 straight games. Come on, that is downright disrespectful.

As I told the other dude, corruption/misdeeds isn't something that only takes place at the very top of a power structure. Tim Donaghey was a dirty ref and was supposedly a lone wolf.

The refs didn't cost us the game. They just limited our margin of error. The same bad habits we played with all year came back to haunt us in the end..

I think we got screwed on a few calls, yes. But, like the others are saying, we are supposed to be better than the Pacers. If the margin of loss was the refs, then we didn't do our job. When you let the refs decide the game, you've already lost.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I agree but Reggie was so much better then Barry.

Game 6 - Knicks 34 fouls, 18 foul shots; Pacers 16 fouls, 46 foul shots

Series total - Knicks 162 fouls, 105 foul shots; Pacers 116 fouls, 171 foul shots

Phantom call on Martin to foul him out ended the game.

Asked about the officiating, Kenyon Martin said, "I’ll save my money, man."

You can see the shot charts there. I thought last night was suspicious too but the Knicks shot mostly jumpers while Indiana kept attacking the rim.

It's slightly misleading, because once the refs make it clear they're not going to call contact when the Knicks drive to the hoop, then it puts them off- whats the point in driving if they're just going to get knocked down, lose the ball and get no whistle?

What annoys me the most is the way the refs blatantly changed the way they call the game to specifically accommodate a player (Roy Hibbert). How is that legit? Hearing all this "he goes straight up" crap (newsflash: no he doesn't!)- why can ref's suddenly change how games have been called all year just to make a specific player look good?!

This is the Knicks' fan perspective rather than the objective outsider perspective. CBS sports before game 6 actually had an online article where they said the only way the Pacers could win is if the refs *stop* making so many quick foul calls on Hibbert.

I usually like cbs sports, but Matt Moore hates the Knicks (he genuinely does)- not sure if he was the one that wrote the article. Though I'm always aware of my fan bias!

At least it'll be interesting to watch the Heat/Pacers series, just to see what happens with the officiating when Hibbert and Lebron collide- we'll have a better, more objective idea by then.

Nice, I didn't know that there are shot charts for individual games. That really tells the story. Also though, we lost 4-2. That means we had to intentionally foul them more often which also throws off the final numbers.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Yes the whole world hates the Knicks and Melo and is out to get them. It's a conspiracy.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

I find there is a big difference between Moore and Berger. I agree that Moore seems to have a bit of an anti-knick bias.

Moore mentions that the refs don't hate the grizzlies but are calling the game tight inside. My guess is the refs won't hate the pacers in the conference finals but will, 'call the game tight inside'.
