JJ Redick, anyone?

Any standouts you've noticed?

Had to go pick my son up at school--stopped watching awhile ago. I caught most of the early SF drills -- Tony Snell looked pretty fluid....Difficult to really gauge this event on TV -- the drill portion is a real small sample to begin with, then they keep cutting away to the panel of commentators and panning the camera all over the place to all different players. I've seen Snell during the year though and he looks plenty athletic and is a real nice outside shooter. Was getting hyped by the panel and rightfully so. They mentioned Kawhi Leonard as a comparison -- there's a physical resemblance for sure (I was thinking Darius Miles myself) but I don't know him well enough to know for sure if he's the same type of hustler/defender Leonard is... 6'7" 225 lefty DeShaun Thomas looked good in the shooting portion of the drills... Arizona's Solomon Hill didn't shoot it that great from what little I saw but I still like that kid. There were times during the year when he looked like Michael Finley to me--that same combination of strength/put it on the floor/outside shooting in a similar bulldog-type 6'7" 220 body...And I continue to be intrigued by Glen Rice Jr. Going to be interesting to see where that kid winds up going. Chad Ford has him going in the lottery (#15 to the Bucks I believe---and Ford was raving about him today, putting a ton of stock in his DL play, esp. late in the season/DL playoffs); DX has him going 24 to us and nbadraft.net has him going middle of the 2nd round. Speculation varies greatly on this kid right now. I don't think there's any question that he's got talent, it just a matter of how much his checkered past comes into play for some.

I'm not terribly familiar with college players but also have been hearing good things about two NBA jr's: Glen Rice and Tim Hardaway. But most of the intrigue seems to be coming from Glen Rice who everyone regards as lottery team. Do you think his character is really suspect or is he just not the sharpest crayon in the box?

Most probably know this already but they are also televising the combine tomorrow at 2pm on ESPN2, if anyone is interested in watching. I won't be able to catch it but would love to hear people's assessments of it and the prospects.

Glen Rice Jr = wasnt that great in college but i heard hes doing well in the DLeague
Tim Hardawar JR = reminds me of Jrue Holliday's game but plays more like a SG. I wouldnt mind having him
Reggie Bullock = great shooter with great athletic ability (very underated)
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I hoep we don't draft another SG because I truly believe JR is coming back and we also have Shump to play the 2/3. Knowing this and that Melo plays the 3/4, I think the focus should be on big man depth or PG and Larkin, though small, may be a nice pick.

I checked out the Wolters post, which was interesting, but he seems too slow for the NBA and has a really low release that would get put in 3rd row if anyone were up on him.

Those are primarily my three picks at 24 unless someone of high value falls Larkin Wolters or Greene

Playres that stood out

Nerlens Noel only weighs according to this 206? Thats taking a C who has a torn ACL and weighs 206 pounds first????? I would not.

Steven Adams true legit C size 7-0 254 with almost a 7-5 wingspan(he's going to jump into the top 10 with how he shot the ball and his true size.

Rudy Gobert had a 7-8 wingspan and hes almost 7-2

Shane Larkin was small 5- 11 170

Mason Plumlee was taller than most of the C's at a tad over 7 feet

Trevor Mbakwe was only 6-7 ish but had the biggest hands almost a foot long and a wingspan of 7-4

Shabazz Muhammed was one of the most solid 2G at 221 pds--most of them were in the 200 range or less.

That is really small. He'll gain weight but that is really small and with the ACL someone is going to have to make a tough decision. The depth of this draft is better than last year. While some teams will struggle with the higher picks to get high value--the rest of the draft has solid rotational players who will make the NBA. I think this is a unique draft where the value of it is in the bottom of the round 1 into the 2nd. Im swinging my pick at Ricky Ledo at 24--if he is even there. He just looks like a possible NBA all star down the road--cant pass that up.

Im changing my top 24 pick to Ricky Ledo. More and more I think that he might be the best SG in this draft and certainly would be BPA at 24.(Put it this way--hes not going to be in round 2 unless there is evidence hes a drug guy or something)He probably has the best combination of size athletic ability ballhandling and shooting package with the defense from that position. For example Ben Mclemore is suppose to go number 1. Hes 1.5 inches shorter and 9 pounds lighter and if anyone has seen Kansas knows he has no handle.

Measuring 5-11 Shane larkin to me moves down to round 2. Im still on board with Nate Wolters and Erick Greene

Also keep in mind Chad Ford said a team in the mid 20's gave Giannis Adetokoubo a promise. The Knicks are known to do this--and we know IT is still running it.

whats "IT"?

i wouldnt mid ricky ledo at ALL! - especially if JR leaves

my wish list was cory jefferson (but hes staying in school to be a lottery pick next yr)

- shane larkin
- pierre jackson (youve sold me on him)
- mason plumlee
- kenny kaji
- myck kabuongo
- allen crabbe
- reggie bullock
- G. Dieng

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Branden Davies measured big for a PF. 6-10 242 with huge hands and a 7-2 wingspan. In a draft where the 4's are thin--he could climb.

Speaking of, the word around the grapevine is that Seth Curry is moving up the draft. I hear his game is similar to his big brother's and we could definitely use some of that if he's around at 24. I remember back in the '09 draft, people similarly underestimated Steph Curry and had him falling in the 2nd round. Slowly but surely, his stock rose but even before draft night most had him as a mid-1st round selection. Anyway, I suppose what I'm asking you is if there are any parallels between the two?

I hear teams are willing to take a flyer on him since the 2014 draft is so strong. Having him miss most of the season, furthers their chances of getting a similarly high pick that year. Seems like a smart strategy so I expect for his stock to stay high. His weight isn't too much of a concern though because he has a decent frame and will have plenty of opportunity to fill out as he recovers from the ACL injury.

Just watching Olynck--he is far and away the most skilled offensive 7 footer working out. I know Cody Zeller is skilled but Kely O is big enough to play 5-4--hes a really good safe pick -- Im a little surprised if hes not even in the ? for the number 1 pick. His inside outside game is going to be special.
Steven Adams might end up going the highest--with his size and showing he can shoot it--he might jump up to be the top 5 range. Yes top 5.

im not too sold on seth curry ...hes tiny and not a good ball handler...an ok shooter...but his name will carry him far
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Makes sense. It seemed like the legacies (Kobe Bryant, Al Horford, Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry, etc.) all make as big/if not bigger impact than their Dad's so I was hoping lightening stroke again (for us).

I still hope Dennis Schroeder falls to us. He is 6' 1" with a 6' 7" wingspan.
