I get my NBA news from Reporters on twitter.

Frank Isola‏@FisolaNYDN1m
NBA says J.R. Smith is suspended "for throwing an elbow and striking the chin" of Jason Terry.

Steve Popper‏@StevePopper3m
Well. @TheRealJRSmith is suspended for one game

Howard Beck‏@HowardBeckNYT4m
In statement, NBA says Smith's suspension is for "throwing an elbow and striking the chin of Boston Celtics’ guard Jason Terry."

I can't blame the league. I can blame JR for putting himself in that situation. Jr knew he was wrong right after he did it, that is why he walked back to Woody.

Ridiculous. Not sure what the nba has against the Knicks. You can't tell me there haven't been a million fouls as bad or worse.

Look I hate terry and i feel he started it but JR went too far. He shoudl ahve just walked away. I mean we were minutes from being up 3-0 and now he is suspended for game 4. I still expect to win in 5 games but JR really pisses me off sometimes

I don't remember. This stuff is ridiculous especially in the playoffs.

Wow this is really pathetic considering all the hits of some players, we can start with KG, the league has done nothing about. Guess they couldn't resist the chance of screwing the Knicks and maybe getting this series extended.

Pathetic soft league.

If we are not hitting 3's tomorrow we will have a hard time scoring. Someone will have to step up and replace JR's points.

What he did doesn't warrant a suspension. I don't even think it warranted an ejection, but he got that. He was fined due to being called for a flagrant 2. That should have been enough.

But this is typical of the league. They are quite obvious with this stuff. I hope Woody speaks out against it, but he probably doesn't want to be fined.

He should speak out. Despite winning the sixth man award JR isn't a name brand and he plays for the Knicks.

Agreed. He should defend his players as Doc does his.

Whether it was the right or wrong decision to suspend him JR needs to be smarter than that. In the regular season its a different story but in the playoffs you have to control yourself

There is clear precedent for Smith suspension. Chicago's Rip Hamilton was suspended a game for elbowing DeMar DeRozan two weeks ago.

If they suspended Rip for the same thing I don't see anything wrong with JR geting suspended for it now. We all know Terry is annoying, but Lebron never hit him with an elbow. Lebron took out his frustrations by dunking on terry.

Papabear Says

JR Smith messed up our chance to go 4 and out. It's now time for someone to step up. Maybe Copeland or some one else. Shump. Things like this mental break downs may hurt his chances for a big pay day with another team.

I still think we can win tomorrow as long as guys like copeland and novak step up. Novak looked good last game but his problem has been consistency. Copeland usually steps up when melo or jr are out so im hoping he has one of those games tomorrow

Then they need to suspend EVERY SINGLE PERSON who throws an elbow and they do not do that, as shown by the KG vids in this thread. They pick and choose who they're going to drop the hammer on. Which leads to speculation that there are biases involved in their decision-making.

Jr could miss game 4
