I don't get it either. Maybe he just prefers to take more money in other leagues over the vet min?

Can't be the money. He actually got cut by NBA teams. I think it is just a matter of teams looking for younger options.

Legend has it he asked for too much money to stay with us the first time and was let go.

I'm not sure of that, but he is actually a good player and at that size he should be able to stay with a team for a year at least. He is 31 so maybe he just wants to stick around in the NBA. I'd definitely keep him as a third center and nor be afraid to play him. He puts up numbers when he plays, unlike Ghost Solomon.

As much as we talk about the intangibles... 18 rebounds in 1 start is quite tangible.

I need to see more of this guy to really gauge is worth..he looks good but theres gotta be a reason, then again grunwald has been picking up casts off like crazy with his limited resources.

Lin
Novak
Jr
Kmart
kidd
Prigs

Not so good

Camby
Bdavis
Salomon

The guy either is lucking up or has a very good nose for what this team needs and how these players fit.

Barron has had his best moments as a Knick. I think this was a great signing by Grunwald. Barron will probably get minutes and with the health of KMart and Tyson questionable adding a guy that can has size and can actually play on the last day of the regular season was pretty remarkable.

That was a terrible miscalculation on his part. To this day I still don't get how a 7ft center could average a double double in the last 7 games of the season, and somehow fail to convert it into ANY contract the following season. Hope he fired his manager.

if memory serves, he was put on the back burner while we worked out other contracts. He got tired of waiting and signed elsewhere.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

My memory is pretty bad, but the way I remember it he didn't end up signing with anyone until the season had begun- seemed like he held out for a big contract and ended up with the minimum.

Thats like the same thing we did to Shawne Williams too isnt it?

I think I was actually confusing the two.

No, I think Shawne Williams put the Knicks on the back burner.

He did? I heard the Knicks had him wait while they tried to get Crawford and someone else and he felt disrespected and signed with the Nets. He even tweeted how he couldnt wait for the lockout to be over so he could sign with us.

If he can do this sort of thing against starters he could be real valuable against Miami.
