I just read amare could be back in 2 weeks, and rasheed is doing light shooting, and he could be back at the same time

Didn't Amare take a lot longer to come back the last time. I was under the impression he was most likely done for the season.

Amare's a great scorer but for the past 2 years the team has consistently looked much better whenever he's off the court.

I finally found some singleton footage. Sorry if this has been posted already

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

AGREE.....100%

But out of all people, veteran Kurt would understand. Not sure how White is still on the team, other than he's another body to throw at Lebron. And Kenyon Martin, Chandler and Wallace makes Thomas expendable.

But without Thomas, there's no 13 game winning streak!

White is a body to throw at Lebron.

James Singleton is a SF/PF. Perhaps he can guard Lebron instead of White?

He's not a center though...

Kurt Thomas is one of my favorite Knicks ever. It's a shame to see him go. Hopefully he can come back next year and provide some big man depth to the club. He can still give you a few quality plays a game. Not sure why they waited for Kurt to have surgery now and not 3 weeks ago though.

Another active body in the frontcourt is good. Did I hear he likes rebounds? I like him already.

folks, acquiring singleton is just for the rest of the season. i dont expect him to sniff the court in the playoffs

Who knows? It all depends on the status of Martin, Sheed and Camby. We could very well need Singleton in the first round, maybe a lot. With the Knicks, you just never know what is up with injured players.

I like his fire and pride. Sounds like another KMart type. We need those kinds of players in NY. I think he'll fit right into the NY attitude. Play hard and NY will love you. He seems like that type of guy. I like that there is a blueprint to the type of players we need. It shows me that Gruny knows what makes this team tick.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I found it interesting they didn't go out and get a real big but got a guy smaller and quicker like Kenyon. Kmart must have made a real impact imho.

they said it

... I’m not the kind of guy that’s going to decline, you know. Every year I get better. I just worked on my game. I spent more than an hour, an hour and a half a day working on my jump shot with the coach (in China), just working of different parts of my game because China is different than the NBA.... it’s a lot more physical, a lot more dirty play, and they pack the lane over there. I used to be a slasher, so I had to develop a jump shot to be able to do more things. Once that opened up for me, everything just became easy. Right now the NBA is easy to me.

Yes, Grun has done a great job. James Singleton is 31 years old. So another vet. Grun hasn't been taking young players and developing them. The vets have more maturity and know-how. 6'8" 230lb and headband. Singleton can run the floor well and has good hands. Similar player to KMart.
KMart = 6'9" 240 lbs headband.

Write-up on J.S. - He majored in computer science and seems to be a pretty intelligent dude.

James Singleton is an international basketball star who has won a championship last season in Spain beating fc barcelona. This year he is joining the Dallas Mavericks. While in Europe Singleton was MVP of the Italian All Star game and became the fan favorite, he says out there getting on the bad side of the fans, even your own fans, can be dangerous.

If key guys are injured then of course that shakes things up. If kmart and tyson are healthy though I dont see Singleton having a huge role unless he plays outstanding these last few games.

Woodson does not want to experiment. He is forced to experiment. It has been like this all season.

Kenyon Martin and Tyson Chandler are injured. As far as their healthy return, nothing is guaranteed. We are missing any quality player taller than 6'9. That is a recipe for being dominated inside.

Whatever role Singleton plays, hope he brings his extra thick shoe inserts. Kevin Garnett is back.

I agree, Earl. I personally think Tyson is being handled with precaution and kmart will be fine by the playoffs. That give Singleton time though and I hope he works out.

TeamBall - the thing that bothers me is Tyson coming back and then needing to shut it down again. The playoffs will be a grind.

The severity of Kenyon Martin's ankle injury makes the date of his return pure speculation. Assumptions about injuries and recovery make great conversation, but have nothing to do with stepping on the court for a back-to-back or a seven game playoff series. No one can tell except the player. For example, there were a lot of people who expected Derrick Rose back. He and Shump suffered similar injuries around the same time. But they were both different.

Shump is finding a groove from three point range while Derrick Rose is playing with his kids.

I think Tyson came back because Martin needed to be shut down. Reports today say he asked out of Thursdays game so that can't be good. The good thing about the playoffs is that the nba schedules it so that there are lots of breaks/no back to backs.

I actually didnt know that. My bad then. It seems there is some cause for concern.

Same. That game in Utah really set the tone for the way this team is playing, so it just feels wrong. Wish it was White instead of him, but I get it.

Many said the same would be for the careers of

Camby
JO
Durant *many thought he would not be able to play PF because of his lack of strength, body type/build*

I am not saying he is a star by any means like these players, I am saying he would be a tool at the SF/PF that we could use vs SF with PF size with guard skills
You cannot use size and strength to match up vs athleticism, skills, size, strength, like David West vs Lebron/Durant even Paul George/Wilson Chandler/Ilyasova/Jeff Green
Using length/athleticism/speed would be our best chance to disrupt such players, players that could recover even when they get beat, buy enough time till the help can come, and give us some minutes to defend those players shot/ability to penetrate

It is the same reason why we play much better with Martin when compared to Chandler

I just don't see why we need 6-7 players that are eligible to play C on the roster especially when majority of them have health issues with injuries as well
Having Warrick to play Ronnie Brewer's role but with more size/length, without the mass
