Of course, JR is simply another spoiled, gifted, problematic, playground baller who only cares about the money.

Playing close to home is irrelevant. His coaches handling means nothing. He could care less about his teammates because it begins and ends with him and him alone.

He ignores the support and adulation of the Garden.

Winning means absolutely nothing to him.

We get it.

Rock me, I'm a danish!

Apparently the AnswerMan is not seeing the contents of the minds of our Starphucque and mini-Starphucque-like-walk on via the jumbotron during each game, like all good Sombers can.

See how poster's here, CHANGE the POINT OF YOUR POST, and TWIST IT TO SOMETHING ELSE
You are just saying how much JR is penetrating off the dribble and attacking the rim
Part of the reason why I do not like to post here as often....

I think JR is trying is best to consistently trying to get easier basket's and is mimicking some of Harden's moves as a student of the game
He is understanding that isn't about trying to get a basket and IF he is able to hit the shot or not

BUT

realizes how only Felton/Smith/ and now a healthier Iman has the ability to penetrate, which create's good shots or sets things up for his team mates with a wide open look or a step

thanks ronron....i didnt mean to create a heated debate.

if he continues his good play then theres good news and bad news
good=we have a legit #2 option
bad=we wont be able to afford him next yr..like briggs mentioned

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Maybe the thread title is what threw many of us off then. "Equal" usually means they're the same and will be the same in the future (like 2 will always = 2). If all you meant is that JR is going through one of his superstar stretches, then we agree.

He's getting more minutes than in any previous season. So all the volume (FTs, FGs, etc.) is going to be higher

Yes, but these past few games he is scoring efficiently, not by taking an ungodly amount of shots.

Not that concerned about next yr, I'm excited about this season right now and the playoffs for the NEW YORK KNICKS. He just told Jamal Crawford to move over to 2nd place in the 6th man of the year award.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I think the Knicks have some version of his bird rights. I also think Chris Smith gets James Whites spot next year if it keeps JR a Knick.

JR wants to be here, although his agents phone wasn't ringing off the hook this summer, he surely could have gotten more else where.

Also a 10 yr vet isn't looking to go to some rebuilding team (which are the only teams that have $ to give him)..Remeber he had the choice to play with the clippers when he came back from china..Im also positive he will be a starter next season if he stays..

I feel you, but there is a big difference between 8-10 million and the 3-4 the Knicks can probably offer. This isn't last year where JR maybe gets an offer of 5 million max. Money talks, who knows if JR will listen. We should only want him back if he can somewhat sustain this level of play (however, FG% will likely drop a bit). Personally I've counted just as many games where I've wanted this nutcase off the team as games where I've praised his top-shelf talent.

JR is absolutely in one of his stretches. He is still taking that dribble-dribble-dribble off-balance iso shot that I will never think is a good idea, even when it falls. He still doesn't pass or create enough for others. He's still taking too many threes (7 attempts last night). He's taking it to the rim & utilizing his athleticism more, which is great. But his overall game has not changed. He's still the same dude. Enter at your own risk.

Papabear Says

If the Knicks can't afford JR Smith next season we better tank the team. I don't think JR will command a whole lot of money but there is one thing he will demand. That is to be a starter and I don't blame him. Woody is a stubborn man.

I've never seen JR this good before. Offense, Defense, ebounding, passing and driving..............I think he has taking a big step this season. No doubt about it.

LOL! Been a while since I heard a good Chappelle Show reference. Bravo, sir.
