All I can say is if Melo's injury is worse than what the Knicks Machine is saying. Dolan will have a hell of a price to pay. Fans will be running to Brooklyn in droves. All you need is someone like Spike Lee to start the exotis. Dolan may be forced to sell then and only then.

Doubtful. As I said Melo is no fool. I suspect he opts out to sign a 5 yr deal. However, I wouldn't put it past him to bolt to another team if it's a better chance to win.

However it ends, I think it will be ugly

Most fans could care less what melo does, I'm positive folks wont complain much if he did leave.

Probably won't complain because the next starphucke is right on its heels

He had a better chance to win in Denver. He came here for the bright lights not for winning.

My point is Melo is not going anywhere, He's here until Dolan runs him out of town, which is not happening.

I am a bit worried that Melo wasn't behind the bench with Tyson during the game. I know the report was that he was getting treatment but the mystery with his knee situation has me worried.

We should all be somewhat worried. Fluid buildup in a knee isn't really a diagnosis but a symptom of a larger problem.

If there are no problems---than you would say there are no problems. When there are problems--James Dolan tells you to say nothing. To me that sounds like different opinions are going on. As long as you have an MRI--you can get different people to look at it. Whatever it is, it's not good.

If Melo needs to shut it down for the season then he should rightfully do so. This season is already loss were not winning a playoff series with or without a cripple Melo. I rather he not risk jeopardizing his career over loss season. Amare going down I could deal with, but no melo too, I think we be like the bobcats.

You would think our PR people would be capable of quelling all speculation but nope...it's like this franchise relishes being a media target. I've always thought the biggest attraction in New York is the Media and everything else comes after them....They Run New York

Melo is clearly injured but the Knicks let him go out and further injure himself against Denver. Then please someone explain why the Knicks would fly him cross country twice with a swollen knee. Why not just leave him in NY. They arent beating the Clippers anyway and even if they could why risk it. Are the Knicks really stupid enough to risk the next 2 years of this franchise. If Melo tears up his knee its all over this season and the next 2 the Knicks will be Fd. They would be stuck with broken players no 1 would want,no draft picks, and the oldest roster in sports. It would plunge them back into the depths of the Thomas Layden era. Yeah 18-5 was great but its over. At this point rest Melo and hope u can win a plyoff series as a 6th or 7th seed. Whats the point u really going to risk the whole franchise on 1 home playoff game. Since that is the worst thing u can possibly do , Yes then im sure the Knicks will

Mike Lupica, is that you?

If there was just a "Ewing sux" comment, I would have guessed this was a Barkley blog entry.

Rejoice Knick fans- Melo said that the fluid build up was due to a hamstring issue, nothing to do with the knee- there is no structural damage there. Aiming to return on Wednesday, thinks he will be pain free the rest of the season.

You really think Knicks fans care? Melo is not needed the team plays much better without him. He has been playing with a bum knee like a coward who can barely stand to jump of the ground. They don't need his kind of selfishness, trying to play hurt just like he did last year. Always rushing back from injury. Shame on Melo.

hamstring issue caused an otherwise normal knee to build up fluid? It almost makes sense. Not really but whatever.

Maybe not but since the fluid is behind the knee it is possibel as a poster on knickerblogger speculated...

I hope this is true. I’m not an MD but I took enough anatomy to know there is a structure behind the knee called the popliteal fossa which is an empty space behind the knee which is bordered by the capsule of the knee joint and the hamstring muscles.

Fluid can collect there from a hamstring injury and have nothing to do with what is commonly thought of as the knee joint (within the capsule) itself. It is a little surprising they couldn’t differentiate this on the original MRI.

It implies a sore hamstring which certainly has a better intermediate and longer term prognosis than an articular injury. That is if the fluid was drained from the popliteal space and not the joint capsule itself.

What fan really knows. We will see as he plays and if surgery is needed in the offseason.

Hammy fluid in knee?

Nalod getting over a type two tear that kept him off the courts for 10 weeks now. No fluid for me.

I don't dispute it, but Im just not aware of it.

The back of the knee joints are connected to the hamstring, i wouldn't have thought about it since melo himself thought it was his knee.
