I think JR will be back, we can pay him the most money in January/february.

Why can't JR be a more versatile, gifted and defensively-rugged and raw version of jeremy lin?

If the Beautiful Mind, Lin, dropped 67 points in two games (or displayed a crossover dribble with extra mustard) there would be a coronation.

Insipient Alzheimers is at terrible thing.

No coronations may be scheduled until after a Knick is traded or signed by another, more youthful, properly built, properly run, better dressed, fiscally brilliant franchise. In a better conference or division, far far away...

Harden is a superstar because he shoots 2's at a 5% better clip than the shithole bum we have scoring 67 points in two games.

JR is Big Nate because he plays for this stupid, insipidly-owned and starphucqued cluster dump we are forced to post about.
When Nate continues to work out after a few years away and wins a POTM or POTW, he's the way we should have gone.

I will wait quietly with confetti for the next game Jeremy Dearest logs a triple double. Or DLee gets a double double and a deflection. Or Jamal Crawford hits the open man.

BEAT THE SCATS!

Both nate and JR have incredible talent and both don't have long term contracts. Good comparision.

Lin has 25mil deal.

I don't remember Harden being proclaimed a savior or worshipped as one. He is only 23.

Agree with Nate Robinson hes a 5mm $ player playing for 1mm and he did it to himself. But make no mistake--Nate is a no joke player in fact if we lose JR Smith Nate should be one player we look at. He can replace JR but he can ball and play PG.

Nate has been more of a bonehead than JR, on-court wise. Never seen or heard about JR shooting at the wrong basket. Yet. JR has meant much more to the Knicks in a comparable amount of time, IMHO. Although JR does not have any "Dunk Competition" patches on his warm up jacket.

Sorry about the Jesus Harden mention, was referring to the JR = James Harden thread. Insipient Alzheimers/self-inflicted. I do believe Mr. Harden is being proclaimed as a franchise player in comparison to our Melo-sub-lite.

JR is paid almost 3x what nate is getting. JR was a value signing because of all we know. Dude had issues with NOLA and known immature to pout.

Your Melo-Sensitive. Melo will create his own knick legacy in time, or not.

Nate???...JR is having a comparable, if not a better year than Gallo at a third of the price...His numbers are just as good if not better across the board..His defense is better..And Clutch??..And we got him for free...No tears...

JR signed for less than he could have gotten elsewhere. And we were tapped out.

The guy loves it here, and has shown improvement in his time here.

I root for him more than any other Knick. And what a great story it will be if he plays a key role in a New York championship.

Smith had been hot before, once making 11 3-pointers in a game, but he had never produced such numbers for a sustained period. Rather than gorging on step-back jump shots and 3-pointers, which are pretty to look at but hardly reliable, Smith is torching defenders off the dribble and making his way to the paint, where he has collected a bounty of layups and free throws.

According to the N.B.A.’s statistics site, Smith has more than doubled his number of shots at the rim while also increasing his accuracy near the basket. During the winning streak, nearly half of Smith’s shots have come within five feet of the basket. As a result of his aggressiveness, Smith has taken 8 free throws a game during the last two weeks, compared with 3.6 for the season.

Is there any such thing as a quiet 30?

JR has the same athletic ability and basketball skill set as Kobe Bryant.

Thanks to Mike Woodson, Smith is just now learning how to think like a basketball player.

So, yeah, you're probably right that he'd score 20 points if he started!

With the New York Knicks beating the Bucks on Friday, Smith put together another performance of at least 30 points, while shooting higher than 50 percent from the field. It was his fourth 30-point game during the Knicks' 11 game-winning streak -- the longest current streak in the league.

Wrong.

What? You're taking some quote out of context from an old thread just to tell me that I'm wrong? You're getting pretty desperate.
We were talking about him *averaging* 20 PPG for a full season, not having a brief stretch of games. I would have readily granted that he'll have periodic stretches of awesome play if you had asked me that in the previous thread.

You and Briggs are trying very hard to find old comments by me, take them out of context, and prove me wrong. I am flattered!

Bonn1997 - it's only good natured chin music.

It's a beautiful morning.

"When we push the ball, it's hard to defend us. It's kind of like a cross match because he's guarding 4s and 5s, and they've got to switch it up and run down the court like who's going to guard him. So when I'm pushing the ball, a lot of times I've got a smaller guard on me, and fortunately it worked out a few times where I was posting up and I was able to find him for 3s."

Redemption Song

A month ago, Smith had a chance to beat Oklahoma City at the Garden, but his buzzer-beater from the corner missed in a one-point loss. Smith was criticized for not driving the ball. Since then he has been a driving machine.

Kobe Bryant can kick rocks.
