Bonn - The Answer Man cares less about the Dolan's+Cablevision than he did for Gulf+Western and he didn't give a rats butt about Gulf+Western.

Kurt Thomas just sacrificed his body for a win and the absolute best you can offer is some lime flavored haterade for the guys who signs all the checks?

A determined statement was made, by example, by a man who had no business being on the court.

Pass me that forty.

its a good and fair point. If only we had 65 guys like Kurt we would be equipped to make it through the season.

fishmike - at this part of the brutal March schedule, The Answer Man would gladly settle for Kurt Thomas blood transfusions for Rasheed Wallace, Amare Stoudemire and Marcus Camby. Leave the Lance Armstrong stuff alone.

The rest just need some rest.

JR going to the hole! Perfect from the line! Second half redemption!
Is the manchild going to wise up, now that he's the man?
We have warriors! Throwbacks!

We've had 11 different starting lineups! Tops in the league! And I bet you thought we only were leading the division!

Beat those drums! Beat the Magic!

The Answer Man Channels Muhammad Ali

Not sure if anyone else picked up on this but the Jason Kidd, Kurt Thomas “we’re good, we got this” look before the game started made me feel much better. Add that to the encouraging Melo news and things just may be looking up here in Knicksland. - Tommy Dee, The Knicks Blog

The Answer Man does not know what prescient is, but if its good then this thread is it.

An owner with low principals needs highly principled players. You need a team of of Kurt Thomas's. It's too bad our main star lacks character.

Rose is not the answer.

Knickstorrents - first, whatever your opinion of Dolan's "principles", which you fail to identify, they have absolutely nothing to do with Glen Grunwald's (and most of Donnie Walsh 's) personnel decisions. If you have substance to the contrary, please educate us.

Second, our main star may lack the court vision of Magic Johnson, the quickness and strength of King James or the tenacious spirit of Michael Jordan - but lack of "character" is a poor way to describe a man you only know through newspaper and video reports.

How do you measure the character of any man?

Certainly not by how he performs to your expectations on a basketball court.

This is the red fish to ask a man to measure some character,

it cannot be done,

but character exists and everyone wants a high character in their corner

The Answer Man would benefit from a little googling.

you measure a man's character primarily by his deeds.
and secondly by the company he keeps.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Characters Welcome

Raymond Felton, the lead guard the builder refused. Stubborn, stocky and none too smooth about hiding his emotions. He will pout, force things and never win a beauty contest. Cool. Get to the rim, get me a bucket and the foul.

I Man Shumpert, barely out of his rookie diapers, too much a yoot to understand that health is not promised. Having too much fun in the big city. His summer activity will be critical to his growth.

Chris Copeland, 29 and back in the states after roaming the wilderness, bonus points for perseverance.

Kurt Thomas, proud warrior refuses to back down. Crazy enough character to give it back to opposing fans and even his teammates.

Marcus Camby - historically brittle but a rebounder of the highest order. Some bodies are just not built for contact. Saving it for when it matters most? Is pacing a character trait?

Rasheed Wallace - knows its just a game. "both teams played hard my man" A family man of the highest order. Family defines character.

Steve Novak - vocal when its going his way. Quiet when its not. Inconsistent character. Like the fact his parents show up to watch him play.

JRSmith - combustible character that cannot be managed, or contained... so you remind him to dee up, and you remind him that playing close to home is a special gift
