People are taking it easy on Kidd, Woody has to realize this isn't a younger JR Smith, who can bounce back from partying or drinking too much booze. This guy has checked out and needs to sit on the end of the bench for now.

What makes it even more annoying is he gets noticeably agitated when someone suggests he needs his minutes cut.

His attitude of wanting to be on the floor not realizing he is 40 is the reason Woodson is scared of him

This is what I don't get. He can't hit open threes, which he doesn't use his legs for. Is the ball getting heavier?

And I understand Woody might be in awe of the guard with a chip who he never could approach as a player himself, but why are we playing what amounts to a 40 year old SG? Especially in the 4th quarter? Because Felton is that bad at the point? Ray was getting to the rim with impunity the entire second half. Not that that's a grand achievement against the Sicksers, but hey...

Sort of answered my own question.

I think Kidd has to be batting through some sort of injury or mental fatigue. At this point, I'd consider sitting him for 10 games, letting him figure out what the issue is in practice and then bring him back before the playoffs.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

And also, Kidd, like Novak... if he isn't hitting his jumpers and threes, his value is diminished so heavily that you might consider not playing him at all.

You still use your legs and other muscles for a set shot- I think he looks tired.

The question is what's making him tired he had 7 days off ?

Will somebody get a set and interview him and ask the question

A buddy of mine is friends with Kidd and has known him since high school. He said Kidd told him that he wakes up the morning after every game and can't move. I think the reality is he is just getting old.

That's even more reason to ask why are you trying to play so much, you're not helping the team the way you use to. Prigioni can give you a break, because you aren't locked in anymore.

Nothing is wrong with Kidd he's 40 years old, I've been watching basketball for over 20 years now and I can't recall a guard his age playing the number of minutes he's playing , he's gotta come off the bench he is not a starting pg or shooting guard at this stage in his career, he only started because Shump was hurt , Knicks started off hot and Woodson just won't let it go, it's over put Kidd in a role a 40 year old should have.

Jason Kidd right now is passing up shots, those are the type of players Woodson would sit down at crunch time. If Kidd wasn't pig headed and loved the team more , he would tell Woodson to play Prigioni more and give himself more rest.

What does Woodson see that we don't ?

Syniko wrote:He wanted Lin, not Felton when he came to New York. The difference between Kidd and Felton is a wide one. Kidd in a mentor position would have suited him fine. He gets to pass on his knowledge to a mirror image of himself in Lin. With Felton, he couldn't do that. Kidd is just wasting away as a Knicks and he's wasting away wondering what the heck happened in the last 2 months.

Kidd/Nash and Parker all have said at one point or another that Lin reminds them of themselves.

You say he wanted Lin...what are you Professor X or something. We don't know that but, what we do know is that he expected Lin to be here. Everything else you wrote is pure speculation and some of it seems incorrect. Kidd has mentored Felton who referred to Kidd as a father figure.

Also, good guards almost ALWAYS say some upcoming guard reminds them of themselves. Nothing but self promotion.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

he was not meant to play more than 16 minutes a night. he has averaged 28 minutes a night. when he was fresh he had that offense humming. woodson relied on him too much, and as he has worn down the knicks have regressed. that's how bad woodson has needed him.

you can toss out the first month of the season. the ship be takin' on water.

ding, ding, we have another winner. DK's right that the issue with Kidd is the minutes.

Thats the problem. Kidd does not want to sit and he gets chippy when it is suggested. It is up to Woodson to grow some balls

Show me an NBA player on any team, anywhere, who wants to sit... and I'll show you a reasonable facsimile of Chris Washburn.

Show me a player with Kidds experience and savy to pass up an open shot when the ball is beautifully rotated for him (as the open man) to take the shot. I expected Brewer or Shumpert to pass up the shot , but not J.Kidd.

Also have you noticed no media has asked him questions about his game in a interview as of late. Are they protecting him ?
