Unless something drastically changes we are looking at 5th seed before March and the tough schedule begins

1. Miami
2. Indy
3. Brooklyn
4. Chicago
5. Knicks

Time to change the formula

Jacked this from the game thread.

My man. The formula at MSG hasn't changed in a long time. Here it is:

- Trade away as many draft picks and promising young players as you can

- Overpay for players past their prime

- Overbid on players no other teams are bidding on

- Let James Dolan overrule his basketball people

I was so pissed off we wasted winning the Bird Rights case and let Lin go.

The winning made me come around. Maybe Kidd/Felton/Prigs was better than Kidd/Lin.

Now?

I hope my mind changes by the time the playoffs roll around.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Is NYK gonna get another warning or just get banned this time? It's not good for the board IMO when 90% of the community is irritated with a poster.

It's the next morning and I'm still ****ing angry about last night and I'm ready to give up on this season and the team. I've been screwing around with espn's trade machine and I've come up with a bunch of different options, none of which would happen, but at least it brings me some amusement.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=a7yo773

Tyson and Shumpert to OKC for Perkins, Maynor, Lamb, and cap filler. OKC dumps Perkins and gets a better player in Tyson plus a nice young piece in Shumpert. Maybe we try and flip Perkins to another contender and we get two nice, young assets in Lamb and Maynor.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=8nvlsqx

Tyson to LAC for Deandre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe. LAC gets a better center in Tyson, one who at least knows how to cut to the basket for CP3 lobs, and we get to high-upside players in Jordan and Bledsoe. I'd also try and holdout for a future 1st from LA.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=bc9vllz

4-teamer: Shumpert to Phoenix; Beasley and a 1st from Boston to Orlando; Redick, Jermaine Oneal, Prigioni to Boston; Jared Sullinger, Fab Melo, Terrence Williams, and a 1st from LA via Phoenix to NY. Plus cap filler.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=b9gd262

Melo to LAL; Gasol and Shumpert to Denver; Javale McGee, MWP, Wilson Chandler, Kenneth Faried and a future 1st from LA to NY.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=atybmwz

Tyson and cap filler to GSW for Bogut and Klay Thompson. Throw in Shumpert if they'll give up a 1st.

All these trades allow us to tank and rebuild around young assets + draft picks. Anyone else got any good trade ideas out there?

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

What is trading Shumpert going to do. This team needs a shake up at the core. Can't believe Melo and Amare were laughing it up on the bench down 30+

I want multiple 1st Rd picks

Here is my blowup scenario that I think might be doable from both sides.

Knicks trade Tyson, Novak and Shumpert to Minny for Shved, Kirilenko, Roy and Bundinger.

Why would Minny do it? They are a small market team and wants to get rid of Roy's contract. Roy is done. Kirilenko would be contract filler along with Budinger. They get a great PnR center in Tyson to go along with Pekovic and a defensive SG in Shumpert. Shump can develop with Rubio and we can see what a Lin/Shump backcourt could have been. Minny has a lot of PGs and this would be ideal for them.

What do the Knicks get? They get a tall athletic young promising PG in Shved. He looks like a taller albeit slower version of Lin with better outside shot. Knicks get a defensive specialist in AK47 and Budinger to backup the 3 spot. Roy? Price to pay to blow it up.

After this, contact Morey right away. He wants to clear up more cap space. As what he did with Morris and giving up 1st round talent for a 2nd rounder, he is just looking to clear up more space for Dwight. I would call him up and give KT's expiring for Royce White. White is a headache and I doubt they will get anything for him. The Knicks can get this talent and hope for a miracle.

I feel bad for Shump. I want to trade him just because I think it will be better for his career.

The only way you are doing that is by sending Melo away.

How about this....

Melo for Luke Walton(expiring), Daniel Gibson(expiring), Tristan Thompson, Omri Casspi, 2013 1st Round pick(lottery worst place is 7th pick if 3 teams jump over in lottery), 2013 2nd rd pick(34th), 2013 2nd rd pick from Magic(32nd), future 1st round pick.

Cavs would look really good. Kyrie, Melo, Varejao.

We got the picks you want.

We would have 4 picks this summer. Might get lucky and land Marcus Smart.

17-15 / 5th seed

Sounds good. I'd also like a 1st rd pick in the 2015 draft as well incase this one is a dud

It's great that we are in second place. But, 14-14 in our last 28 and during that time we needed buzzer beaters against the Suns, Cats and barely could handle the CAVS.

Woodsen has allowed Melo/JR Smith ball to commence. Our offense is garbage there is little to no movement and this team has been and always will be soft. Last night was typical, punch these guys in the mouth and they mentally implode. No one fears the Knicks.

And I don't care what anyone says, if our GM is tying 10MM up in Camby, Kidd, Novak and allows Lin to walk when we still don't have a guy that makes players better. He's going to get healthy and he's going to be solid. We have grap talent on this team two one dimensional bigs, a chucker coming off the bench and guys breaking down.

Hopefully we can hang onto the 3 seed, because if we see the Bulls in the Playoffs, Melo and company at winning two games and then they are done in the first round again.

It's actually funny at this point.

Thank God for 3 game losing streaks.
1) Blow up the franchise.
2) Trade everyone for anyone.
3) Follow the N*yets.

Wow, I've never heard any of this stuff before....SMH
