Yeah i dont want to mention marbury, isiah, the denver trade or anything from the past. Simply because its irrelevant

im only concerned about the present and look fwd to the future

Kyrie for 2015

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

C'mon, man. Marbury-type? That's pretty loaded.

what's loaded about it? marbury always put up numbers but never really took his teams anywhere. melo in denver? put up numbers but never really took his teams anywhere. melo in new york? he's putting up numbers but if we don't make it to the ECF we are all going to have to face the fact that he can put up numbers wherever he goes and not take his team anywhere.

You have to go back to that Lebron statement. A lot of times, it's Melo by himself. Can you point to our 2nd option after Melo? So far, it looks like Felton, cause nobody else is getting off with any regularity. No Chandler, no Kidd, No Shump, nobody. JR has become inconsistent, and Stat has yet to break out. At least Marbury had other guys to pick up his slack. Melo could use a sidekick.

not a fan of this "first option" "second option" crap. what you and others mean by "first option" is simply a guy who you think deserves to take the most shots, whether he actually "deserves to" or not.

it's a team game. if you're a complete player you can be anything from a "first option" when necessary but otherwise enable others to be a first option. share the ball. play for others or at least play with others.

marbury was always the first option wherever he went almost always putting up more shots than any of his teammates and where did it lead his teams? nowhere. he was not a good teammate.

if melo is going to be more successful he needs to be able to change his approach and get others involved. failing that it won't matter who he is surrounded by unless he himself becomes a robin. he ain't cutting it as batman.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

that's very charitable of kidd. sounds like it was a statement of hope prior to playing with melo rather than a conclusion drawn by actually playing with him. it's your citation so you would know. i haven't seen any really consistent points of comparison between carmelo this season and nowitzki his title season.

I know some here will say DJ you're crazy in NBA there is only 1 MJ, one Bill Russell like only 1 Wilt, 1 Jerry West, 1 Oscar
or 1 Kobe & Shaq now solely only 1 Lebron James. But the youth of NBA is slowing changing. Special players are coming about
all the time now as in case with CAVs Kylie Irving the 2nd gem #1 draft pick since of course prior CAVs #1 Lebron James.

I love/like Carmelo Anthony it would be a great story if he can win here in few yrs OR get pieces to blend in with Knicks having real legit chance at NBA Titles. But to be honest I dunno bout Melo!

Already mentioned I nor you know what the hell the NY Knicks gonna? do but if MELO gonna be here for his duration contract TRADE EVERYONE (*yep Amare too) if you can get yourself some player as good as Dwade (wont happen) or Westbrook, Durant & similar stars.
Of course this won't be easy!

Knicks past regime gave away too many draft picks & wasted opportunities to have pieces to move a direction in a draft or getting
the BEST and that is what any star such as Melo Anthony needs to play alongside with.

NOT an Amare Stoudemire, nor JKidd, Sheed or someone mentioned R.Felton being 2nd best valuable player on NY next to MELO.
Tired of the notion we can't do better, Knicks got to have a better plan is all that is required. Stop being the joke of
the elite NBA run franchises. Alot of this got to do with Dolan however Jim Dolan does spend $$$. If he's advised right then
one day we'd be in position to have a Kylie Irving, or John Wall type player.

This is Serious, serious piece of Bo-diddly Sh_t I am talking about. Our Knickerbockers gotta emulate a plan and execute to win
a NBA title. a plan you say eh ? for our Knicks?

BULLs did this after MJ 60pt games was losing Bulls series to Celtics & Pistons back in the day.
ROCKETs did this once,
even MAVS did it kinda when window was still open for Dirk few yrs back and
Miami did it twice once getting Shaq (nba title#1) and recently with the hated LBJ lured to Fla. (nba title #2).

The old Houston Rockets did it after they squaked by our KNICK heroe's in the 1995/96 NBA Title won by Rockets (nba title#1)
and went out getting Clyde Drexler for Hakeem the dream, then immediately entered (nba title#2) championship game winning easier
than their first title.

The Lakers did it 2nd with getting Shaq from Magic for their many Phil Jackson titles, and of course we knicks
fans prayed when the Big-3 joined together in Celtic-Land we hoped at least 1 of 3 was too too old for NBA Title.
*Wrong-are-rooooo!

YOU see forumers Lebron and Kylie Irving are those special game changing type players that MJ, KOBE and Timmy Duncan was.
Westbrook, Durant and few other stars has potential on being NBA special type players for franchise success.

Sure a team can win with STARs without these assets as MAVs did few yrs ago for their sole NBA title, and that Pistons did with
1 title in 2 NBA Final visits since yr. 2000 with Billups, Rip Hamilton and Sheed Wallace. Let me say at least 1 of 3 (Billups)
may get enough yrs & stats to be HOF one day.

However though we had chance with our special HOF Pat Ewing, Ew never had the pieces /star/players these present era teams has.

MJ I cant stand him but give it to the man he won 6 NBA titles, never loss one, KOBE 5 NBA Titles for current debate involving
MJ versus Lebron. *Cannot stand LBJ either but I respect Jordan and James.

Lebron gave the right answer but so did Michael Jordan regarding picking KOBE & 5 rings as on his level.

Don't forget the other competitor Chi-Bulls if D.Rose comes back. Would you be surprised ? of BULLs didnt move heaven & earth to
grab someone in 1 or 2 yrs to play with D.Rose ?

LBJ sadly mentioned yrs back he can OR wont ever rule out going back go CAV Land. Can you imagine that ? Irving and LBJ ?
*Disgusting ! , Darn the HEAT. Hate them don't want to see them win 2 titles in a row. Bad for whole NBA & da' Knicks.

Knicks need to blueprint all this from other nba'ers success, I've said this crap yrs ago on other popular boards such as this forum

The Spurs, Bulls (D.Rose), Celtics and Lakers despite issues of the LA & Boston teams they all are the great run franchises as a Knick fan I feel more & more urgent to win NBA title within 5 yrs.

The AllStar weekend As far as our Knicks reminded us & whole league whom surely took notice of the gem called Kylie Irving of CAVs pending Superstar during 2013 NBA Allstar weekend.

These current OKC, HEAT and whomever better win now BECAUSE once the CAVs get more pieces to build around Irving and players/stars
want to go Cleveland to play with Irving, CAVs going to be right their to have chance to be NBA elite for championships.

DJ, a few of on here including myself and 3g, were already touting kyrie as the next big thing.. good work posting, and you bring out some good points.. but this is why I said, i would be willing to trade carmelo in a deal that would bring us a guard like rondo.. even if currently injured... maybe a 3 team deal.... I think rondo is a game changer, although I think irving has the potential to be a better player, rondo is one of those guys that can dominate a game in different ways...outside of scoring...

Papabear says
When Irving can can give his team a winning record and when the Celtics start loosing as though they really need Rondo i will be a believer. But until that time comes all you are doing is Melo hating again. Man let is go. Also no little man is going to change a team without a superstar big man.

If Carmelo wanted to special--he wouldve left Gallo Chandler Randolph Mosgov and our picks on the team and came here as a fA and taken a bit less. That wouldve been special bt he needed to have that extra money and the Knicks have gone way to old in building around him. While we played well the first 20 games--I think reality has kicked in about what is a team that is just slightly above a 500 team. With young talent like Gallo Chandler etc.. WITH Carmelo--maybe we wouldve won 62-64 games and highly likely couldve won it all. Now we search to trade the only asset we have to try and salvage our all in mentality--but I dont see another route.

Papabear Says

Hey wait a minuet Briggs! Don't give LeBron a pass because he is just a guilty as Melo. First of all LeBron's NBA salary is peanuts compared to what he gets off the field. LeBron screwed everyone. Especially the Knicks and Cleveland. Had we known that we didn't have a chance with getting LeBron I believe we would not have given away the talent we had for nothing. I'm not talking about Gallo and the kids, I'm talking about Zach Randolph, David Lee and Crawford Hell they are better than what we have now. Imagin Gallo and Chandler and other pieces.
I agree Melo could have waited but maybe Melo thought that what we had was not good enough. I'f Amare didn't come here I doubt if Mele would.

Melo is just one f#*king man he needs other stars around him to win it all. So don't act stupid the man will not win anything without another super star next to him. Amare ain't the one. In our starting line up we only have one shooter and thats Melo. We have a bunch of old men who is all wounded and a coach who I am starting to wonder about. No we won't win a championship this season but don't blame Melo. Just blame how Walsh miscalculated the LeBron move and gave away a better team than what we have now.Zach Randolph,David Lee, Crawford, Nat thats right little Nat Robinson. If we kept Gallo and the rest of the guys by now we would want to trade them all. Denver is playing good basketball not because of what we sent them but with some of the other players. Isn't it funny that Marbury went to China and won a Championship? Marbury never had the right pieces around him to win a championship. And yes he was an azz hole but When Marbury came into camp in good shape Dantoni sat him down. Blam Dolan for that one.
We need the right pieces to make a run and even if we replaced Melo with LeBron do you think we will win a championship this year? Hell no!!! The pieces just aren't thier. So stop blaming Melo!!

Interesting. Kidd called Melo a Nowitzki type but you see the game different from others.

that's very charitable of kidd. sounds like it was a statement of hope prior to playing with melo rather than a conclusion drawn by actually playing with him. it's your citation so you would know. i haven't seen any really consistent points of comparison between carmelo this season and nowitzki his title season.

He certainly could have continued to play with Dirk or somewhere else if he felt the way that you do about Melo.

maybe he does feel the way i do, now that half the season is over. he is one of the smartest basketball players the game has ever known. so when did he make that statement about melo anyway?

He said it in training camp on an msg show that I watched. I know he also said it where it was written about. Melo has said Kidd is the best teammate he has ever had. I think you need to find a different angle to bash Melo.

I like Melo but do you really think that quoting current teammates of his is really evidence of his greatness?

Dk is comparing him to Marbury. Kidd compared him to Dirk. I think there is a huge difference. If you like Melo not sure why you would jump in when a poster is responding to Melo bashing.

just as i thought-- the statement was made in training camp, prior to their actually playing together. hence, it was wishful thinking on kidd's part. no shame in making that statement but i think we need to face reality here: comparing melo to the dirk of the mavs' title run is a pipe dream. as far as melo saying kidd is the best teammate he's ever had... whoop-dee-damn-do.

melo is what his record says he is-- no bashing necessary.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

I'm just saying it's bad evidence, not that I agree with dk, I don't. But pointing to his current teammate saying that he's good isn't really good evidence either; how often do teammates bash each other in the press?

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

I was just responding to DK. Kidd was saying it in the flow of practice to a teammate and it was caught on mike. He later said it in the papers. I don't think he needed to say anything to a teammate about it. I think he was speaking to Kurt. Kidd was miked up and I remember he also told Kurt to run with him and he would make Kurt look fast.

I guess you've got it all figured out. Hopefully Melo starts reading the game threads and sees your posts where you say what numbers he should put up prior to the game.

figured out? i think so. for me numbers are not the priority though. defense is. he has to be the exemplar.

but just for kicks what numbers do you want to see from him?

after watch CAVs Kylie, KNICKS need to go with another plan & get their own special star..if Melodrama fails to succeed
